Sorry hit the post button to early. Schiff Got Early Account of Accusations as Whistle-Blower’s Concerns Grew Read between the lines, the "whistleblower" didn't get any traction internally, so he went to Schiff's office. There he got "help". It makes it more of a political hit job than a whistleblower. Dems are so desperate they manufacture a incident, and use that for the impeachment inquiry... which in and of itself is problematic since to launch and inquiry by House rules takes a floor vote.

Schifftless throws out rule of law, separation of powers, the bath water and the baby. Pelosi and Schiff Warn White House: Stonewalling Is a Sign of Guilt“If they are going to prevent witnesses from coming forward from testifying… that will create an adverse inference that those allegations are in fact correct,” Schiff warned during a press conference with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Wednesday morning. Schiff said any attempts to “stonewall” Congress “will be considered further evidence of obstruction of justice.” Translation: Stand on separation of powers, or assert executive privilege and will assume you are guilty and impeach you. We won't allow you to defend yourself!

Trump has maneuvered the Democrats and the Main Stream Media (also Democrats) into talking about Biden’s political corruption.

Schiff and Pelosi had to know that the Ukraine conversation/impeachment call was going to completely gutter the Biden campaign.
These are smart people. They had to know.
Did they do this to Biden on purpose?
Did they want to get rid of Biden?

Reply to Syrah in 6: First pass at Biden was the gropegate. That didn't work. The (D) machine want's someone else. They learned from the last time from taking Bernie out with the primary process didn't look so good. The tactics are Clintonesque. Would the (D)s be so stupid as to tap Hillary again? I don't see any of the current crop being the anointed one.

Reply to Unknown user in 7: Trump is a political opportunist. He reacts. He didn’t bring this thing up, the Democrats did. I can imagine that the Dem leadership “hopes” it will hurt Trump, but they had to know it would end the Biden campaign. the more I look at it, the more it appears to me to have been an attempt to clear Biden from the field.

Probably the most likely would be Warren IMHO... and she's a terrible candidate in so many ways.

I agree she's the front runner. But is she the chosen one?

In #7 Unknown user said: Would the (D)s be so stupid as to tap Hillary again? You bet they would. But I don't think they've given up on Biden. They don't seem to realize that by going after Trump on Ukraine, they've also thrown Uncle Joe under the Kyiv Express Bus.

Having some fun now! Spent all morning setting up and checking against manuals and procedures. Now I'm slamming 2.5kV power spikes into the device and seeing it it works afterwords.

I'm somewhat scratching my head about the whole whistleblower thing. The NY Times piece makes it pretty clear Schiff with his staff as proxy were deep in preparing the whistleblowers complaint. The only thing I can think of was that Schiff's involvement was about to break and the Times piece was an attempt to get in front of it and spin it.

Reply to Unknown user in 14: Sen. Burr and Sen. Warner, the chairs of the Senate Intel committee, made a joint statement that for a whistleblower to take a complaint to either the House or Senate intel committees is perfectly normal protocol. I am not sure that's what happened here. Skippy has been claiming to have all sorts of damn information for two years. I could definitely see a scenario where Skippy approached the whistleblower to be the frontman for his bogus intel. Or the whistleblower approached Skippy, who then massaged the complaint, possibly adding false information. Either way, no one on that committee should have done anything except investigate the complaint as it was presented to them.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 18: The list comes right out of the official Soviet talking points on the Holocaust -- they always insisted that the primary target of the Holocaust was Communists. They supported this "fact" by using the Nazi's own propaganda, linking Jews to Bolshevism. The East Germans ran with the idea, even going so far as to portray the victims as "heroes" of native German Communism. Meanwhile, of course, the Soviets pursued their own brand of anti-Semitism.
