Having been on the other side of those interviews, they can be rather confusing on both ends.  It doesn't help when one member of the committee keeps making weird faces at you when you're trying to ask a question.

Thankfully, that didn't happen, and only three people were on the line. Apparently I fucked up the first one royally - four positions, and within two hours I was told I was no longer a candidate. The second one seemed to go well, I thought - I was asked questions about exactly how I would approach a project, given certain circumstances, and I think I gave good, thoughtful answers. What might hurt me is that I would be expected to produce all my own graphics as well as write and build the courses, and I'm not a graphic designer. But he asked if that's an area I'd like to learn and I truthfully said yes. But there are plenty of people out there with better experience who are 20 years younger and would probably accept less money, so I'm not feeling too optimistic.
