Pack the Supreme Court
---apologies to "Pack Up Your Sorrows"

No use ramblin' on the cable networks
About the messes we've made
Too hard scrabblin', they can see we're babblin'
Folks see through the facade

But if somehow we could pack the Supreme Court
So it ruled leftwardly
We would choose them, you could not refuse them
We'd have hegemony

No use letting the people vote in person
To make their preferences known
Since we're failin', make 'em vote by mail-in
We'd have them by the throat

And if somehow we could pack the Supreme Court
So it ruled leftwardly
We would choose them, you could not refuse them
We'd have hegemony

No use tryin' to impose Green New Deals
Against the citizens' vote
Abrogate the Constitution, that's the solution
Nobody cares what they wrote

But if somehow we could pack the Supreme Court
So it ruled leftwardly
We would choose them, you could not refuse them
We'd have hegemony

RBG's granddaughter recorded her dying words, pleading with Drumpfhitler not to replace her but wait until after the election.  And she also said that a fortune in gold doubloons was buried behind the barn, along with the photographs that proved there was a second shooter in Dallas in 1963.

Now that Trump has said that he would like to wait for Ginsburg’s funeral services to be complete before he submits his Supreme Court Nominee, in what year will the Democrats hold Ginsburg’s funeral services?

Howdy. I am off in a little while to submit my paperwork to get my DC concealed carry permit. Wish me luck, please. One never knows what sort of Kafkaesque roadblocks might lie in wait for me.

DOJ identifies NYC, other cities as jurisdictions permitting 'anarchy, violence and destruction'

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday identified New York City, Portland and Seattle as "local governments that are permitting anarchy, violence, and destruction in American cities," a move that comes as the federal government continues to take a tough stance against localized rioting in some areas of the country.

Well, so far, so good. This part of the process was less painful than I anticipated. But now I have to wait “up to 90 days“ to actually get my CCW permit in the mail. Ummm can I slip someone an envelope full of cash to expedite that?!

So Joe won't release his SCOTUS list before the election.....

That'll give Trump more ammo...

You'll need some luck with THAT part of the process.  The US Postal Service will have all those additional millions of mail-in votes to deal with, just sayin'.

Media *spit*

Ya' read the headline and it's crafted to make you think the pro-police crowd was throwing things.

Woman injured by flying beer can at pro-police rally in Bremerton

However in the story....

BREMERTON, Wash. - A pro-police rally in Bremerton was disrupted when occupants in a passing car yelled "F--- the police!" and hurled a full can of beer at rally participants, striking a woman in the face.

Don’t I know it. I wish there were an option for them to just call me or email me and I would pop downtown to pick the thing up. But no such luck.

I seem to recall there were several examples of similar shenanigans pulled by the press regarding tea party rallies.

Apropos of nothing: So I've found that the cure for the truly persistent earworm caused by listening to the "Creature Report!" recurring musical segment on Octonauts (Little OR's new favorite TV show) is a combination of the final chorus Wir setzen uns mit Tränen nieder of Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and "Dance The Night Away" by Van Halen.    Funny old world.

Wow!  It does, indeed.  Good musical memory, there.  I saw Oedipus Tex performed in 1990, at Carnegie Hall (I think); but I never would have remembered that link.
