Reply to lucius septimius in 1: Appropriate musical interlude (the credits at the end are both interesting and depressing).

So in the wee hours of the morning, Trump tweeted that he and the First Lady have tested positive for COVID-19. If you thought the Trump-hate was bad before, you know it's only going to escalate today and this weekend.

Reply to vxbush in 4: On Morning Sedition they were fretting about how Trump is now "working from the White House" and how this might affect his role as Commander in Chief. Isn't, or hasn't, practically everyone been "working from home" at some point over the last few months? And how does this affect Trump's role as Commander in Chief? It sounded like they were worried he wouldn't be able to climb onto his horse and draw his saber to lead tomorrow morning's cavalry charge.

It's a good thing that the Vice-President tested negative. We don't want the government caught with its Pence down.

My wishes for the good health of the president, the first lady, and Miss Hicks. i’m now sitting outside at my neighborhood Starbucks, where of course the local “progressives“ are all high-fiving each other over this new story. Disgusting people that they are.

Been watching the feed on Facebook. The amount of my Canadian associates exhibiting full blown TDS is disgusting. Even so called conservative ones.

Today's a really good day to stay off social media. I took a quick look and immediately found a guy insisting that a positive Covid test triggers the 25th Amendment. He then assumed Pence must also have tested positive, making Queen Nancy president. It's poor firm to put one's sexual fantasies on Twitter, but there it is.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 13: Interesting read, if difficult in the cramped format and a little on the long side. It makes some valid points, too---but to say that "the Left in America doesn't exercise power" is flat out ridiculous. One need only look at the media, academia, the "nonpartisan nonprofits" that are revolving doors for the members of the first two groups, and the echo chamber they all produce to see how silly an assertion that is. Not to mention the many Leftist politicians, and their staffers, former staffers, interns, etc., who add to this throng.

In #14 buzzsawmonkey said: how silly an assertion that is Yes, of course. But I find the essay interesting simply as an example of someone who identifies (IIRC) as being politically Left, but who is struck by the sheer indecency of his political cohort (in that case, in the wake of 9/11). I believe I found this via a link on Andrew Sullivan's old blog, back before he lost his mind (which he seems to have at least partially regained more recently... maybe).

Reply to Occasional Reader in 15: The late Nat Hentoff, though very much of the Left, did not lose his decency either. He alienated a lot of his former comrades by coming out repeatedly and strongly against abortion.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 16: Yep. He is the example most frequently cited when conservatives try to think of a decent leftist; because it’s so difficult to think of a second example.

Managed to snag 800 rounds of .45 ACP for 200 bucks. Only problem is buddy was a reloader and cast his own bullets. Range has a lead policy so I can't use them inside. *sigh*

Reply to Occasional Reader in 20: There's that. Got some ammunition that looks really old too. Old as in the lead is oxidizing for some of the unjacketed rounds. Couple of hollow points in there too.
