Good morning. Day off today. Was going to go to the range but it's a PA day and the Squire is home from school. It's a weekend with his mother (Two Mommies!) so I will be taking him down earlier than usual. Upside I will manage to avoid rush hour traffic. Will be stocking up on powder on the way back and maybe pick up some bullets too. Got a bunch of empty clean brass casings that are just waiting to be refilled.

Morning, Phil. That sounds like a busy day. I'm debating about taking a day off next week to do some planning and purchasing. Given the way the threats are being made towards Republicans if/when Trump is re-elected, it makes way too much sense to try and grab some stuff before the election.

Morning to all you other campers as well.

I thought you might know her. I shouldn't be surprised that she's doubling down on the stupid this morning. Democrat politicians are all rotten to the core.

Howdy. Well, I had a pretty lousy Thursday night. I’m staying at my cousins house by the shore. Got home from dinner last night, I decided to go out on the back deck to take in the view of the water in the stars, somehow managed to miss a step and tumbled down about eight of them. Intense pain in my left leg after I landed, I couldn’t bend it or stand on it.  Fortunately I had my phone in my pocket, first I called 911, then I called my cousin, who lives in Bethesda. She called the next-door neighbor who came over to help me. My cousin and her husband also jumped in the car at almost midnight and drove up here to help me. I sat in the emergency room and related hospital areas from about 1030 until about 5 AM, you know how it is in hospitals. I was sure I had either a broken femur or possibly a broken patella, or both. Fortunately, it appears that nothing is broken, just a lot of bruising and “effusion”. I have limited mobility but I’m just staying here for another day, my cousins husband is staying as well, and he’ll drive me back to DC tomorrow. Fun times. I’m headed for a nap now.

Sorry to hear it; my best wishes for a speedy and complete healing.  I'm pretty much over my fall last Friday night---except for the fact that the optometrist who "fixed" my glasses put the replacement nose pads on upside down, and I didn't notice it until I got the specs home.

I trust you weren't playing a drinking game where you had to take a swig each time Biden said, "C'mon, man!"

Heh.  Falling down the stairs is certainly the kind of accident one would usually associate with imbibing, but in this case, no, I had had a glass of wine before dinner and a glass of wine with dinner, that was it. I seriously have no idea how I managed to do this.

thank God I had my phone in my pocket when it happened, otherwise out of been lying out there in the backyard in the dark either calling out for help, or trying to drag myself back up the steps into the house to get my phone.

Again, having had a faceplant on the sidewalk last Friday thanks to an ill-maintained "picturesque" brick sidewalk---after which the entire left side of my face swelled up like a barrage balloon---you have my every sympathy.  Except for a few lingering bruises and abrasions, though, my "damage" cleared up pretty quickly.  May you experience the same.

Welcome! One thing that takes some getting used to here is that this blog is relatively slow paced since our numbers are so small. Just a heads up, you won’t get the same interaction activity that you may have become accustomed to elsewhere on the internet. That being said we have a commonality that transcends all that fast paced interaction found elsewhere. The commenters here are the cream of the crop!

Meanwhile,  I just found out Don Jr. is making an appearance at a hotel about a mile from me. Kamala is also in town somewhere. Both campaigns seem to think Georgia is in play. It's not.

So sorry to hear this OR!. You’re lucky in a way that nothing got broken, that sounds like a very nasty fall. We better all start watching our step, these tripping and falling incidents have hit two of us here now recently. I don’t want to see this trend continue! Take care and heal quickly my friend

According to the Kalifornia voter registrar early voting here is up six times normal from past elections. That means six times the potential for vote fraud to me 😕

Well, that's fifty minutes that I'll never get back---listening to an online tutorial about "sexual harassment in the workplace," with intermittent questions.

Those who do not commit sexual harassment do not need it.  Those who do commit sexual harassment will in no way change their behavior.

And back home relaxing. Have a thunderstorm and tornado warning in effect. All my shopping was done and I managed to get a 5% discount on my powder. Should be good for a few thousand rounds now when I can get the press set back up securely. Last board I used broke on me.
