Indeed. I'm planning a movie marathon in his honor, like everyone else I'm sure.

How's the leg?

Kinda painful.  The nerve block they had done during the surgery was wearing off during the course of the night, and I woke up at about 330 in considerable discomfort. I got a little better later in the morning but is bothering me now.  i’m taking prescription painkillers, which help, but they also give me slightly weird little waking dreams when I’m trying to fall asleep.

Sounds rough. When the BF had surgery in July, the pain meds he was given during surgery started wearing off and they couldn't give him any more because he was bleeding. He ended up receiving two pints of blood before they could stop it and he finally got pain relief the next morning. I felt terrible that I couldn't be there due to the 'rona, but he said he's glad I wasn't. He didn't want me to see him like that.

Good grief! That sounds horrific.

In my case, fortunately the surgery went very smoothly, and I popped out of general anesthesia in the recovery room very smoothly and lucidly.

I'm very glad your surgery went well. Anesthesia and pain relief are as much an art as a science, I think. Everyone responds differently.

In more positive news, my daughter-in-law is at the hospital to have labor induced.

Someone should draw a cartoon, St. Peter's Gate, with Sean Connery as James Bond, an Aston-Martin behind him, saying to St. Peter "The name's Bond, James Bond"

It’s a Hunt for the Red October thread?

Happy Halloween folks.
