No time to put my feet up -- gotta drive.

That photo makes me want to say: RIIIIIcolaaaaa!

As for putting my feet up, I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. Getting rather bored with it, in fact. I can’t wait to just be able to take a nice three or 4 mile walk again, let alone go running.

Good morning. Overcast and foggy after a night of light rain (finally). Just back from the walk along the American river and thought I’d share this pic of two wet black labs.

They're adorable!

It's a beautiful day here in the land of brazen voting fraud. I may as well move to Illinois at this point.

Barely just got up. Very long night. Posted details in Frontier, but not serious.

On top of getting to bed at 2:45 AM, had disturbing dreams.

Can only really explain one of them (others made no sense) and in that one I was running and hiding from Nazis (real WWII Nazis; kind of a WWII era dream.

Me, I had a wonderful dream early this morning.

I'm the ambassador at at US embassy somewhere in Africa, which is in imminent danger of being overrun by a militant mob.  However, we're all very calm about it, since we have a very good escape plan, and we'd planned on shutting this embassy down anyway.  I'm making the final preparations with the assistance of my executive officer, who is played by the model Iman (as in David Bowie's widow), except that this is Iman in maybe her mid-30s.   She and I are the last ones out of the embassy, with her in the passenger seat and me piloting this sort of jump jet/helicopter that takes off from the embassy roof.  As I ascend, I hit the button to drop a load of flares, partly to ward off any heat-seeking missiles, and partly as just a big "eff you!" to the militant mob, who howl in rage as the flares momentarily blind them (it's nighttime).  We fly across a large river or bay, to a neighboring, peaceful country, where we've got reservations at a very sumptuous Four Seasons hotel.  Iman and I check in, and agree to meet in the hotel restaurant for dinner.   Which we do; she appears, looking absolutely stunning in a red evening gown.  As we sit down, she casually reminds me that today was her last day with the State Department before her planned career switch; which means, I'm no longer her boss; which means that it's now perfectly appropriate for us to date, and explore the long-simmering romantic/sexual tension between us.  And I'm thinking: This is the best overrun-embassy story *ever*!

Good thing the Secretary of State during your dream wasn't Hillary Clinton.

And better with all that planned than hiding in basements and trying to figure out how to kill the Nazis trying to get in.

Don’t leave now, we need you to hold the fort down through the run offs! The fate of the nation rests in your hands! / Who would have thought Georgia was so pivotal this election cycle? Maybe you, but certainly not me. The suspense is almost unbearable ... I’m hoping for the best possible outcome.

Sorry to hear about that Kosh, hopefully the situation is under control and your wife won’t go though another episode like that. That would be frightening, enough to give anyone bad dreams.

I’m thinking you must have censored the “happy ending” to that dream ha.

I posted some advice at the frontier, based on my own experience with the same issue.

I am now permitted to carry a concealed firearm in the state of Utah, among other places. So I am now much better protected against aggressive Mormons.

Oh, I'm not going anywhere. Georgia shouldn't have been pivotal. It was bound to be close, but IMO we wouldn't have gone blue (if in fact we have) if it weren't for Stacey Abrams' fat ass on the scale.

What is really frightening about this oped piece on AOC's revenge squad is the hate shown by the commenters (except me, of course)

if comment threads were ia true indication of where we are as a country, we would have dissolved into a massively bloody Civil War a decade or so ago. This is not to say that the Democratic Party is not overrun with hateful zealots, just that they are not yet as powerful as you may fear.

True, but the revenge committee is made up of former Obama staffers (about as shocking as gambling at Rick's), and they might have more power than we'd want in a Harris administration.

I will suggest the PA law firm that pulled out of Trump's suit about voting there was being threatened by the state. Just look at what has already happened to Trump supporters - under Trump. Under Harris, they'll have full administration support. Biden might pretend to be against it, but he'll have no real power and will be out before he has to meet any foreign leaders, as he really isn't capable for anything other than a scripted press conference.

Iran denies it. (JPost link) So, who should I trust more of the inveterate liars, the NYT or Iran? Tough question. I think the NYT in this case.
