No hash this morning, just muesli and yoghurt. And coffee. Kids just signed on for virtual school. It's kind of hard for me to concentrate on anything with that going on.

Reply to vxbush in 2: I slept very well for a change, right through the alarm until after 9. No one cares as long as I don't miss a meeting. I worked both Saturday and Sunday to finish a document that was due last Friday (only partly my fault it was late). I'm hoping for a quiet day.

Conservative Treehouse is being deplatformed.
No reason given except ungoodthink, of course. Yeah, I read that this weekend. Clearly it's because he's been making it clear that COVID-19 isn't as serious as the media wants people to think it is, so they have to get rid of him that way. It's funny, because I would have expected them to start the deplatforming as soon as the media declared Biden the winner, but they waited an additional week. If Trump somehow is able to pull out a win through the lawyers (and Sidney Powell has joined the effort), then a lot of people are going to have every right to file lawsuits against all these groups for restriction of first amendment rights. Lots of unconstitutional behavior going on.

Howdy. Still "on the mend" here. I had originally been planning/hoping to take on Daddy Week with Little OR beginning yesterday, but after talking with his mom, we agree it was probably best to wait one more week, so I'm a little more mobile. She did bring him for a nice visit yesterday for about four hours, during which she also helped me with some stuff around the house, which was nice of her. Little OR was very happy to see me, and I, him. He seems to be okay with the concept of "Daddy needs a little more time for his leg to get better". (Plus, at his mom's place, he's now got a cat to play with, so there's that.)

Now, might there be grounds for something along the lines of “conspiracy to violate civil rights“? Perhaps. So this would go back to being a Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act issue then? The question of whether they are a publisher or simply a service provider?

The Founding Fathers didn't imagine a time where so much control over communication was in private industry, and that it would be so difficult to set up competition. Not only would a Facebook or Twitter competitor require a lot of money to get enough subscribers, but it would have to attract advertisers, who would be resistant to boycott threats for advertising on an un-woke platform.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 7: When oldest boys were 2 and 5, I injured my foot and was on crutches. They thought it was great fun to steal my crutches while I was working and then hide them. They then would laugh uproariously as I hopped on one foot through the house with them hopping behind me.

Hopefully, Little OR will not follow suit. So far, when visiting, he's been really good, being careful with my injured leg, e.g. when coming in for a hug.

Michael Yon on the DC "Million MAGA March".
He seems to have a favorable, or at least benign view of the Proud Boys. I know Kosh linked to a story the other day claiming that the new leader of the group was a Jew-hater. I'm not sure what to believe. I do know that I saw an AP piece about the march flatly state - as a journalistic "fact" - the the Proud Boys are "a neo-fascist group". Oh. Okay, AP. I believe everything you write!

Modem died this morning. Had to go out get a new one, and spent too long with Comcast getting it activated.

Reply to JCM in 17: D0 they let you buy your own or make you get one from them? Verizon wants me to buy crappy modems from them, but I bought a Netgear and it works fine. (The problems we have had turned out to be phone line problems at the central office. When our phone would ring once and stop, but you could pick the phone up and connect, I put in a service call and they found and fixed the problem. Took longer than I would have liked, but the guy did it right, replacing the damaged interface box on the house first, then fixing the problem at our ancient central office. I gave him good grades on the phone survey afterwards. I prefer it when the work is done right.)

Reply to Occasional Reader in 15: From what I have read, largely at JPost, Proud Boys have varied since their founding by a Jew-hater. The last leader was not fascist (Cuban and black, iirc). It is unclear whether they really have a new leader or someone is trying to stage a coup. One thing about JPost is that they will give you articles on all sides of an issue and leave it to you to figure out.
