Two takeaways from today's Morning Sedition: 1) The grudging recognition by the talking heads of Rush Limbaugh's stature in radio was, of course, offset by their routine and repetitive denunciations of his supposed "racist" and "anti-gay" utterances. But, of course, they never gave any examples of these things; they were merely uttered as "fact," the same way that the NPR gang would routinely refer to the recent claims of election fraud as "baseless" without ever actually saying why, or addressing them in any way. 2) Watching the wokies bob and weave to push the Green New Deal, and "green energy," in the wake of the massive power failures in Texas was hilarious. See, the real energy sources in the grid failed too, so the "green energy" wasn't at fault---even though the failure of the "green energy" sources helped to crash the grid because, first, they failed, and, because they failed, there was not enough power to keep the real energy sources running, especially with the spike in demand caused by the "green energy" sources---so the real-energy failed too. But, of course, it wasn't the fault of the "green energy." Naturally.

They say these things just like the Nazis tacked onto every news report of a death "Clearly another case of Jewish ritual murder."

Little OR's online kindergarten doing African-American inventors. "Garret Morgan invented the gas mask." I"m immediately skeptical. And... yeah, that claim is stretching things, to put it mildly. Why do they do this?

Why do they do this? And now they're claiming (or at least suggesting) that George Washington Carver invented... crop rotation. Um. No.

They do this in order to erase the past, partly because the people doing it know nothing of the past. I have seen in the past three years entire subject areas eliminated because they "enable white supremacy." Over 95% of academic jobs in the humanities are in African American, "Africana" (whatever that means), Black Studies, African Diaspora, Urban Social Justice, etc. etc. etc. The remainder are mostly having to do with China or "Gender Studies." The past is being deliberately erased.

Just got a text message saying they found an error on my unemployment claim, from a number in Missouri, and a link to a website that I did not tap on but looked up - registration details private, and with tucows, which many hosting companies use, not one used by .gov domains, Not a link to the Mass. sites. Reported as spam. Don't have time to call the unemployment office and report it there.

Heat in my building is out. The electric space heater just blew out the circuits, totally frying the "power" strips. Got the juice mostly, but not entirely, back on---the power strips are garbage that goes out---and I have to teach two classes this evening. Happy happy joy joy.

use the stove in your kitchen, the oven as well, leave the oven door open, you can at least keep the space around your kitchen that way.

Oh, trust me---I've been living in slums for so many decades that I know how to keep the heat a-comin'. It just pisses me off that I managed to blow out two power strips that were supporting certain useful items. Meanwhile, since I wrote the above, the heat has come on for the moment. Whooooopeeeee! I'll be able to do my classes in only mild discomfort.
