I was sort of expecting this week's days being in French in honor of our neighbors up north. In the meantime, RIP Yaphet Kotto.

Reply to JCM in 5: Next demonstration the police need to make loud PA announcements; "We do not have the personnel to arrest you and process you for trial. Therefore, we will now shoot to kill."

So I guess he’s gone... Across 110th Street, in the sky.
Personal trivia; his daughter was in my class in law school. I didn’t really know her, however.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 12: My BIL is convinced it's putting chips in us etc. etc. etc. I suspect that's because he used to work for one of the pharmaceutical companies that didn't make the vaccine.

Reply to lucius septimius in 13: The "trackers in the vaccine" story was from a poorly edited video of one of the CEO's saying how there are RFID chips ON THE BOTTLES to track them, confirm they are legit, and possibly make sure they were stored properly. We don't have technology that could be injected like that without being noticed. And the most similar item, the RFID chips injected into dogs and other pets, don't store any data beyond their built-in ID. They only get powered when being read by a scanner (the very short range radio signal from the scanner supplies the power), so even if they did inject something (and how that would work is a good question because there are several doses per vial) all it could do would be to identify you, assuming they kept track of all the IDs and who got each one. We don't have any way to power something very small for any length of time.

This weekend I actually read an interesting if heavy philosophical piece of the mindset of people who don't accept reality but develop their own. While normally such people would be identified as having a mental illness, this writer went into the issue slightly differently, adding in the moral component alongside. I have no idea if regular psychology practitioners talk about "evil", but this writer did. It was very interesting, if very dense.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 22: Our son just called to let us know what the Vet found out about their new puppy. He definitely does have something blocking him up. Vet didn't know what yet. Son just found the puppy out in back yard eating gravel off a gravel pile. Mystery solved, but how do you get a puppy to stop eating gravel? Must be lacking something in his diet or he's just incredibly stupid. Dog, not son.

I saw this in an email newsletter, but it does not give a link to the source. The Capitol police officer who died after the attack on the Capitol was NOT the one hit with a fire extinguisher. That was a different officer, who recovered. This one died more than 24 hours later, and there has been no official cause of death released and no one has been actually charged with his death (not in any criminal complaint)

Dog seems somewhat better. His tail is up instead of being tucked down, and he is moving around more.

Tried a Malaysian restaurant frequented by the CDC crowd. Oldest boy's first experience with that cuisine -- it was very good. Definitely going back there.
