Thinking of the sign from last night's pub, it would be a different matter had the "Queen's Head" belonged to Anne Boleyn rather than Victoria.

Reply to lucius septimius in 2: I think that would have raised tensions to the Boleyn point.
So the photo illustrating our thread brings me to one of my first world problem rants; the near and possibility of finding a classic eggs Benedict served at a restaurant anywhere around where I live. Everybody wants to jazz that dish up too much, and it does not need jazzing up.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 6: come to think of it, ironically, if they used good old Arnold’s English muffins as a base for the dish, they’d be faithful, rather than traitors.

I was going to make a joke about what they did with chopped off heads; that they played a medieval game involving sending the head down a wooden lane to knock down pins - as in Boleyn pins, but I figured I'd spare you frim having to go on strike.

Reply to lucius septimius in 11: The sketch seems to be unavailable, but Monty Python did parody of suburban sitcoms, "The Attila the Hun Show" with a sappy theme and a laugh track. Attila returns home; his wife asks how the day went "Just another merciless sack of Western Europe", and he takes out something for his little kids - a severed head. "I just wanted you kids to get ahead!" (cue the laugh track) (I think the sketch is probably banned because Attila has a butler, played by Eric Idle in blackface)

A very informative video about the robustness of ammunition. Good information to have in general.
