Well, I think I've managed to well and truly screw myself with the Powers Whut Be where I am adjuncting. I asked the moderator, or whatever you call him, of my Re-Education Camp sessions how old he was, and why I should give a damn what someone half my age thinks about anything: If you would like to know why I consider your age an issue—why I find it utterly offensive to be lectured on various sorts of “tolerance” and “accommodation” by someone young enough to be my child—you are welcome to call me. I do not care to undress in public. I got a reply which was somewhat combative, though not very. Being homosexual, however, he took exception to my stating that this was a choice, and things went on from there: Thank you for your response.
I do not know what “harm” you’re talking about, unless you consider the prospect of someone hearing an opinion contrary to yours to be “harm.” You will have to be more specific in that regard. If you believe people recognizing that you are purveying indoctrination rather than information to be “harm,” that is not my problem.
“Gay” is a Victorian slang term for the licentious (as opposed to the “strait,” as in “strait and narrow”) life; 120-odd years ago, it encompassed prostitutes, theatre people (often prostitutes, when they were “at liberty”), drug addicts, and “bohemian” artists. By the early-mid 20th century, when artists and theatre people had become (reasonably) respectable, and the open prostitution of the 19th century had been suppressed, the term became increasingly applied uniquely to homosexuals. That is another discussion.
The invention of “homosexuality” as a “status” or “condition” is a function of 19th-century pseudoscience. You are free to believe in that if you wish, but there is absolutely no genuine “science” that supports it. It is a pattern of behavior which, once embarked upon, is supported by a like-minded cabal—nothing more.
I’ve no idea what you are referring to when you refer to “hurtful things.” I recall your saying—last session—that “everyone’s experience is important”—but evidently you do not believe that if that experience happens to contradict the “experience” which you find comforting. I have offered to share with you—privately—the experience which makes me disagree with the bromides you are dishing out to the to-be-indoctrinated—but you have chosen to avoid enlarging your understanding in that regard. Nonetheless, the offer remains open.
In the meantime, I have two more sessions of Re-Education Camp to complete. I fully intend to complete my Re-Education Camp sessions.
