*Yawn* Morning, campers. I have no clue what's going on in Biden land, but then I don't think he knows, either.

Beautiful beach morning.  Nothing like watching the sun rise over the ocean.  And then Youngest Boy made breakfast.

Morning. Things are just ducky.... Stay at home order has been issued for 28 days. CDC has declared Canada a Level 4 risk (very bad travel risk so don't bother trying). Only good thing is that I still have a job to go to unlike a lot of people.

Joe Biden to target “ghost guns”

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56672892

... says the Beeb headline.  Because the MSM desperately has to maintain the impression that “Joe Biden”, personally, is doing stuff.

But no less true.

And Microsoft is making my morning more frustrating that you could possibly imagine. Something as simple as figuring out when a user last logged in is completely screwed up in 1909 depending on which MS products you are using. Just more annoying than I can say.

United Airlines announces they will no longer hire the best pilots.  Because diversity.

Mark Steyn predicted that Wokeness would eventually transition from being a big laughingstock, to a time when, among other things,  "planes are falling out of the sky".  Seems that we are headed that way.

Oh, it's nice to get up in the morning, when the sun begins to shine

At four or five or six o'clock in the good old summertime

But when the snow is snowing and it's murky overhead, oh....

It's nice to get up in the morning---but it's nicer to stay in bed.

Oh, the irony....

Hate crime suspect took part in Seattle's racial justice protests

SEATTLE (KOMO) — A Black Lives Matter protester who spent time at CHOP is now charged with hate crimes against Asian-American women.

Remember I've said Seattle is falsifying the crime stats.

Crime survey by SoDo businesses finds more incidents than that reported by Seattle police

Seattle only reports a crime when charges are filed, not based on filed reports.

Encouraging.  Unfortunately, I'm not in the same position he is in; as a lowly adjunct, they can can me at will.

As I mentioned last night, I'm being told that I have to join a different "cohort" (reminds me of the use of the term "cadre" in Mao's Little Red Book) at a different time; apparently, I made my little gauleiter uncomfortable.  Thank God I've only got two more sessions to go---one of them on "microaggressions."

I took my "mandatory" diversity training yesterday online.

I fast forwarded through all the videos of actors related stories of "oppression".

At the end was a survey. I gave it the lowest marks possible.

My comment was, "This course is not inclusive, it is divisive. The goal is division of the workforce into Balkanized Tribes and not unified workforce treated equally."

Good job. I had to take an online sexual harrassment and dating violence course when I was in grad school. It was all scenarios based around twentysomethings living on campus. They all expected you to say you would intervene if someone was harassing another person, report them to the authorities, etc. My answers were mostly MYOB. I would step in to prevent a physical assault if I could without endangering myself. Otherwise, I expect people to handle their own business.

I'm surprised but that's very encouraging. I interviewed at a fintech company that had all kinds of affinity groups based on race, sex, sexual orientation, parenthood, etc. But not one for straight white men, of course. I'm glad I didn't get the job. The interview felt like it was more about prying into my personal life and assessing my attitude towards said affinity groups than determining if I had the skills for the job.

The interviews I had were two fold, half tech oriented, and I mean a deep dive the interviewer and expert in the area. The other have on 12 Principals the company follows (no diversity) the others wanted you to demstrated I understood the principals and to applied them to things I'd done in previous jobs.

Guns are a "public health issue" according to Biden.

We'd do more to stop shootings (at least the ones that get the media attention) by focusing on mental health than on the guns.

Yup....

They have established that they can trample civil rights and individual rights with the emergency declarations for covd. Additionally the there is precedent in WA State that will be used that "public health" issues are the sole domain of experts making decrees. The People can't exercise a democratic vote on the matter.

I seem almost-unique-ish as a member of our generation[s] that I was never the slightest bit interested in smoking pot.

I'm not saying I never tried it, or "didn't inhale", just that on the very few occasions when I tried it (maybe 4-5 times in my life, with all but one of those instances being taking just one toke, maybe two), I just didn't see anything attractive about it.

I don't know if the current stuff stinks more, of if we're just smelling it more because there's more of it around.  What I can say is that I'm sick of the stench of it.

There's going to be a FAQ-type panel about the COVID vaccine that will occur at a nearby university in the next few weeks, and of the six people at the panel, 3 are medical people and 2 are diversity/inclusion people.
