Everybody seems to be getting excited about Joe Biden's hundredth daze.  Something like that, anyway.

We're already being treated on Twatter to fangirls screaming and fainting at pictures of he and Knee-Pads walking with masks on as if they were at a Bobby Darin concert.

In COVID-related news, a group of MIT professors have put together a paper which then led to them creating a calculator that allows you to determine how long people can be safely in the same room and still minimize the amount of COVID transmission. I've briefly skimmed the paper and the calculator, and the numbers they present for safe exposure are interesting.

Some are reading this paper and saying, "masks are stupid outside." Some are reading this paper and saying, "this is proof that masks work!" Everyone is getting out of it what they want, but the calculator lets you play with all sorts of initial conditions to determine the safest course of action. Interesting stuff, and very math heavy, so extra cool points.

The summary I read was that ventilation is important, not distancing, and shouting, singing, exercise spread the virus more than eating, etc.

So no more 50 people in a conference room designed for 30

I'm wondering about additional studies supporting filtration ventilation. I know this was a big deal in surgical settings years ago; I could see this becoming a bigger issue now across all buildings.

potentially interesting, as long as it is not GIGO.

Yes, that is a concern, and is always an issue with any model attempting to capture real-world information. I think the authors put too much stock in masks preventing infection, given the latest study I posted here weeks ago about masks not being the end-all and be-all of preventing viral transmission.

Monday's.....

My personal laptop charger died....

My work laptop was quarantined by IT for having some update issues usually you get a notice it is out of date or something, but not this time. Means I can't log onto all the systems I need until it's updated.

Then my remote desktop is offline and I need our overworked IT guys on site to check it out.

Kerry was the Secretary of State under whom Obama's "Moolah for Mullahs" program was implemented.

As Biden's "climate envoy," I'm sure he'll do his best to resume the "green(back)ing" of the Iranian regime.

I want to say his daughter is, but I'm trying to dig down to those brain cells and it isn't working.

Kerry supports not just environmental green, but Islamic green too.

Interesting. I am having stronger reactions to the 2nd dose of the vaccine than the first. Must have built up a good immune reaction.

Or maybe it is all the Borg mechanisms betting assembled by nanomachines/////////////

Almost everyone I have talked to has had a similar reaction to the second shot.

Not I!

Very little reaction to either.  I don't know what that means.

I have an 4 year old computer that got very slow, and seemed to have some disk problems. Put a new disk in it and installing Linux to see how it works.
