Reply to vxbush in 1: Sort of/not really. I'm about to head off to the Illinois/Wisconsin borderlands for four days. There is practically an infinite number of places I'd rather be going.

Yes, based on what you've said in the past, I'm sure this is not a happy trip for you. Are any of the kids coming along?

Just checked an email my wife got about a Paypal order. No links in the email (except a fake unsubscribe link that went to myaccount.google.com but without any account info). Said to call a number within 24 hours if this is an error. Logged in to paypal - nothing about this order. Looked up the phone number in google - first result was from reddit, Paypal scam - call the number and you get someone in India trying to get your paypal info. Marked as spam and deleted.

It'll be fun to see if they call the Friday after Thanksgiving "Friday of Color" this year.

From the radio, Gov. Stupid and Lazy is ask if what drives a shutdown decisions. His answer: Swear as accurate as I can render it. Well, you don't make a decision until you make a decision and until make a decision you haven't made a decision. What's worse is none of the press gaggle burst out in laughter.

Have you heard about the new "gentlemen's club," offering continuous 24-hour entertainment? It's called "The Moebius Strip." Their motto: "We never clothe."

What's worse is none of the press gaggle burst out in laughter. You know, when I first started watching the news back in the 70's, I honestly thought these people were at least competent. But nowadays it's clear that these people are beyond stupid.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 17: No, but that reminds me I have the idea for an app - a sort of Facebook for dogs, called BehindBook. However, that needs the development of smellphones.

Others are coming to the conclusion COVID is the result of a lab leak It’s a stretch, in other words, to get the pandemic to break out naturally outside Wuhan and then, without leaving any trace, to make its first appearance there. For the lab escape scenario, a Wuhan origin for the virus is a no-brainer. Wuhan is home to China’s leading center of coronavirus research where, as noted above, researchers were genetically engineering bat coronaviruses to attack human cells. They were doing so under the minimal safety conditions of a BSL2 lab. If a virus with the unexpected infectiousness of SARS2 had been generated there, its escape would be no surprise.

I keep seeing references in conservative media to the idea that “the 70s are coming back“. I think that is an optimistic scenario. This kind of shit did not happen in the 70s. Even Rabbit Bait would have recoiled, I think, at the idea of armed extreme left militias taking over US city centers.
