I'm doing a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) marathon to complete my certification requirements according to deadline.

The wokie crap is everywhere.  Not only do we have to basically submit to the kind of "re-education camp" blather I had to do at the school---and it doesn't get any more intelligent by virtue of its being done by attorneys---they manage to throw (pointless) allusions to "slavery" and to "income inequality" and the like into a discussion of art-law issues dealing with authorized and unauthorized graffiti "murals."

Gah.

Happy Birthing People's Day, so don't forget to honor your birthing person, no matter what gender zhe may be

Happy Birthing Person’s Day to all the Birthing People out there. What would we do without you?

Sure, some of you bigots might refer to this day as Mother’s Day — but inclusivity matters.

In that same vein, liberals used to tell us that “words matter.” But that no longer seems to be the case.

Instead, the left has become the party of twisted semantics, hell-bent on muddying up the meaning of words.

While speaking at a House Oversight Committee hearing, U.S. Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., said, “I sit before you today as a single mom, as a nurse, as an activist, and as a congresswoman. And I am committed to doing the absolute most to protect Black mothers, to protect Black babies, to protect Black birthing people, and to save lives.”

So if Black Lives Matter thugs paint a mural of Jew hatred on a synagogue, does it have to stay?

Well, that's a tough question:

You've got the issue, first, of whether there was some kind of permission to put the "mural" up.  Probably not, in this case---but let's say that the "mural" is by an identifiable graffiti artist in his/her "signature style."  Removing it might be considered to be "destruction of a work of site-specific art," and removing it might, under certain circumstances, be considered "deleterious to the artist's reputation."  Depending on the jurisdiction, there might even be a local ordinance protecting "graffiti art," and citing both the First Amendment (the mural is "political protest speech," you see) and the "Visual Artists Rights Act" portion of the copyright law protect it.

Of course, if a white graffiti artist drew a racist mural on a black church, there would be no protecting the mural, and the artist would be banned everywhere.

Same if someone painted a mural, say, of the burning WTC on a mosque.
