Reply to Occasional Reader in 1: I note as hard as they tried with ranked choice voting, they still ended up with Adams, a former cop, running on a law and order platform, Working classes voted for him. The richer areas voted progressive. I hope it isn't too late for Adams to save NYC.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 2: But I’m also reading that Adams pals around with the likes of Sharpton and Farrakhan.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 3: Haven't seen that. Tabletmag went deep into the voting patterns, and connections with the Orthodox community (I think that was where I read it), but they aren't 100% reliable, either.

FWIW (if just for the first paragraph):
https://jewishinsider.com/2021/02/eric-adams-new-york-city-mayor/
so maybe the Farrakhan stuff is in his past? Not sure. In any event, he certainly seems like a better choice for New York than any of the other available alternatives that were realistically possible.

And at least he does not seem to hate Jews the way deBatshit does. A lot does sound like the kind of things younger people do

So while I have been having some fun learning how to develop games in the Unreal Engine, it is slow, even on a 10th gen i7, quad core that can exceed 3GHz, and I have limited time for such projects. Will also spend some time with a simpler one, once it finishes downloading. Thinking of writing a jousting game - start with training to use your lance to catch rings; then up to opponents. Had one a while ago, but didn't like it. Mine will have control over the horse and lance, with the horse not always moving the way you want, so you have to compensate while aiming the lance. I am thinking of calling it "Joust A Minute"

Pre-built PC with high end processors and graphics cards banned in 6 States. Trying to order one of the banned machines will trigger an alert: “This product cannot be shipped to the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont or Washington due to power consumption regulations adopted by those states. Any orders placed that are bound for those states will be canceled.” However you can buy the components and build your own PC.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 17: When I was in high school, a teacher told us about a discussion with a legislator. They deliberately wrote a law poorly so it would be struck down, because they were pressured by constituents but did not want it. Thus, they could blame the courts. I learned to be a cynic many years ago.
