A friend at work had to do the same a few years ago. One thing I learned talking to her about this is that whoever you choose is going to be *your* advocate (and your mothers) on site, as it were. So keep that aspect in mind. You need someone who will stand up to the doctors and nurses because this caregiver should know your mother better than they do.

The US negotiator on Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, "will press the Taliban to stop their military offensive" at talks in Doha this week, the State Department said Monday after the insurgents seized a series of provincial capitals.

Well, that should do the trick.

It's so simple! Why didn't we ever use this technique before? "Sept. 2, 1939: State Department will press Nazi Germany to stop their military offensive in Poland". And voila! No World War 2.

And since they are affixed to the walls, one might even call them structural.

Some years back, when the use of whiteboards was coming onstream, it was always fun to see in a meeting room the "oopsie" remnants of someone who'd used a permanent marker on a whiteboards, then frantically tried to clean it up.

Somehow, I can totally see CNN doing this, given that they have had so little viewership now that Trump is no longer president.

There was. It was demolished some years back and replaced with a new bridge basically at the same Hudson River crossing point, since the old one had outlived its useful life. And the new one was named… The Mario Cuomo Bridge.  Oh, guess who was governor of New York at the time?

BTW, it's been so long since I left NJ, I had no idea it had ever been called Izod Arena, let alone that it closed in 2015. I didn't even know Byrne was dead.
