Just found out last night that an old friend, with whom I'd done some work back in the day (we had a short-lived small press that put out a few books, and also attempted to start an enterprise selling junk via ads in cheap tabloids), died back in June. 

We hadn't been in touch much in the last few years, but it was still a wrench.
