Environmentalists hate the environment. Judge halts logging on wildfire-scarred forest in Oregon SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A federal judge has halted U.S. Forest Service plans to log part of the Willamette National Forest burned by last summer's wildfires. The ruling Friday comes after two environmental groups sued to stop the logging near Breitenbush Hot Springs and Detroit Lake. The groups allege the Forest Service changed their plans to thin trees and conduct prescribed burns to include salvage logging after the 2020 wildfire without going through the proper environmental review process and getting public input.

Everybody ready for a happy ending? My son's dog went missing Friday around 1:30pm. His wife (she's a Vet Tech) came home from work and they searched for him. My husband went out Saturday morning and searched with them. They continued to search until dark. I couldn't even guess how many miles they put on by car and by foot. Many posting about him on Facebook and people looking for him. Wife had access to many search services through work (he's chipped), they even provided custom "lost dog" posters. My husband contacted an Amish friend and he said he'd tell everyone at church service today and they'd keep an eye out for him. To make things worse, we got about 6" of snow overnight. Finally, while they were out looking this morning, someone spotted him. At first dog was scared and wouldn't come. Son took his hat off and when dog realized it was him, came bounding across the field and jumped up on him. The dog is a cross between an Akita, St Bernard and Great Dane, weighs 135#'s. Knocked him right off his feet. It's official, I now live in a Hallmark movie.
