My company sent out an email saying they wouldn't require vaccination until the various lawsuits are resolved. The unclean still have to wear a mask; the elect have a green sticker on their badge. Nevertheless, they're having the county health department with the booster-mobile out here on Friday. I plan to skip it.

One sentence in the article caught my eye as a mathematician:

Such as sentence is often given for these types of issues--"The longer this goes on, the more harm it causes"--but on its face it is ridiculous. Cumulative counts always go up, because they are cumulative--they are simply adding to the previous numbers, so they have no where to go but up. 

That's not what folks mean by the phrase, but that's what always crosses my mind. The same thing happened with the cumulative counts of COVID, where people were acting like it was a life-long disease and all those afflicted with COVID were now scarred for life. Some folks had long COVID, some died, but just counting cases does nothing other than track an increasing number. It's what cumulative counting does.
