And meanwhile, authoritarianism thrives on the side of the border as well.

The Israeli medical community did a survey of folks who had received their booster shot and asked them if they had any adverse reactions. This is (as far as I am aware) the only country that actually talked to the recipients rather than assume any adverse reactions were reported. Using the results of the survey, they calculated the underreporting factor for the various adverse events. The link above isn't to the paper itself but from an author who did a deep dive into the report.

The results? Quote: "The underreporting factor varies from a low of 1,700 for loss of consciousness to 48,800 for difficulty breathing. Some other highlights: a URF of 6,500 for seizures, nearly 6,000 for Bell’s Palsy, and over 4,000 for blurry or disturbed vision."

But keep repeating that mantra of "safe and effective." I'm sure those magical words will make everything better.

Full disclosure from the author of that article:

Note that these URF’s cannot be applied to VAERS, for two reasons:

      • The underreporting in Israel is probably much worse than in the US for a variety of reasons

      • Israel does not conform to the international classification standard for AE reporting. The US, UK and Europe use the MedDRA system. The Israeli MoH apparently decided to make up its own classification system and continues to use it, for reasons unknown. So comparison to other countries is difficult.

      King Co. WA.

Bike helmets have been the law for 3 decades.

Studies show blacks don't wear bike helmets as often as whites.

      Conclusion?

      Bike helmet laws are racist.

      Action taken?

      Repeal bike helmet laws.

Board of Health repeals King County bike helmet law

This is the same board of health granted plenipotentiary powers by the State Supreme court. They are the health experts and their decisions can't be reviewed or overturned by The People, by legislative bodies or by executive bodies.

My local state Rep. Cindy Ryu.

She doesn't like me. When she was on the local city clowncil and running for re-election I asked her a specific budget questioned. She clearly was clueless about the city budget.

      She continues the theme.

      Proposes mandatory life jacket law.

      Life jackets save lives.

      Everyone should wear them.

Except Native Americans who are so accustomed to the water they don't need them.

Washington rep exempts Native Americans from life jacket bill because they're 'very used to our cold waters'

You will be ruled by the Experts. Noncompliance is not an option.

Heh. It also means I can eat as much chocolate as I want, because I'm so used to eating chocolate.

I like this logic. I'm gonna go with it.

Makes perfect sense to me, but then I'm probably drunk.

Following your other cited example, shouldn’t they just exempt black people from bike helmet laws?

Democrats believe that minorities are incapable of meeting the same standards of behavior as white people. Therefore the kind thing to do is lower the standards. I mean, you can't expect them to control their emotions, can you? They can't help lashing out because white people something something.
