When I see a plate like that in the back of my mind I hear chatter, the clinking of dozens of dishes, snippets of conversations, all amplified by the dull aching in my temples and lack of proper sleep. Over it all hangs the smell of old fry oil and stale cigarette smoke.

BTW, one time I drove by that place as they were filming the movie Tumbledown, and the diner was renamed "Fly Me to the Spoon"

Some things do get better. At least we don’t have to deal with the smell of stale cigarettes as much as we used to.

That diner is relatively close to New England Studios in Devens, MA, which is probably why they filmed there.

The location isn't listed in IMDB for the movie, so the scene might have been left on the virtual cutting room floor.

A lot of locations near the studios get used for location shots, as they are nearby, minimizing transportation. Once my wife had a case at Ayer District Court, and they were going to film some scenes for a Stephen King show. The crew acted like they owned the place.
