So, if Roe v. Wade actually is overturned, what will happen to Planned Parenthood's lifetime dismemberment subscriptions?

They will probably ratchet up the requests for money because now they have to fight even harder against those horrible Republicans!

I've been proposing for some time now that the Gosnell Awards be established, to be awarded on a regular basis, to the abortion provider that has done the best job---since the prior award(s)---of bringing the back alley to Main Street, as Kermit Gosnell did.

I think abortion opponents---like most conservatives in most issue areas---have been really bad at figuring out innovative ways to get their message across.

Why are the Democrats wasting time with these "January 6th" hearings?  If they really make it plain to Trump just how much they hate him, all they have to do is announce that they'll never, ever again let him vote Democrat---even after he's dead.

I cannot speak for others, but the idea of using Gosnell in such a way seems pretty repulsive. It would be like we are remembering a serial killer. I think I understand what you are trying to do--trying to attach Gosnell's name and beliefs to others who support abortion in such a vicious manner as he did--but if we aren't going to share the name of people who perform school shootings, why would we want to raise Gosnell's name with an award?

There are all manner of "dubious achievement awards," which "celebrate" people for doing something noteworthily antisocial or repulsive.  Gosnell, who has been convicted for putting the back alley on Main Street, is the perfect person to mention if one is going to give an award of this kind to abortionists and their supporters---not only because his medical practice was bad, not only because he was depraved enough to collect baby feet in jars, but because the local Planned Parenthood affiliates knew about him, knew what he was, and referred people to him anyway.

Why shouldn't Gosnell be made the public face of abortion?

Why not instead call them the Margaret Sanger Eugenics Awards? Why not draw more attention to the founder? Part of my problem besides giving him more notoriety (whether or not that was something he cared about) is that already his name is being blocked across mass media because of how atrocious his crimes were. If you name awards after him, they will automatically block that news as a result. Not that they would share the news to begin with, but why give them another reason to block it?

The bad cat has another great takedown on a data-heavy field: global warming. He cites Anthony Watts and WattsUpWithThat.com extensively, but he puts it together a nice package. Just in case you needed another write up demonstrating how much bad the global warming data is.

The abortion opponents have been yapping about Margaret Sanger for decades, and it has been shown to have no traction whatever.   Since "Sanger" is a cognate for "sangre," i.e., blood, if they started calling her Bloody Maggie or Bloody Margaret, that might have some effect---but most people have no idea who the hell Margaret Sanger was, and don't care about learning.   That is why using the name of someone who was recently, and notoriously, in the news would, perhaps, actually have some traction.

Howdy.  First day of summer day camp for Little OR.  I am, overall, more nervous about it than he is.  But so far, so good… more or less (he got a little too enthusiastic with texting me from his “smart watch”), despite my instructions that this was for emergencies and logistics (pickup) only.)

Did you really think he would follow those instructions?

Given the looming prospect of renewed toilet paper shortages, everyone should place their orders as soon as possible for a Joe Bidet.

Full tanks are a memory
Sometimes to feel alive, we'd jump in the car and drive
Enjoying the trip so much we didn't care if we arrived
How lovely it was

Full tanks are a memory
And supermarket shelves, where we didn't have to delve
We could buy whate'er we wanted just because it pleased ourselves
What lux'ry it was

But since your inauguration
It's merely a gray morning-after
You're just an incompetent gaffester
But sadly I see the laugh's on me

Yeah, thanks for the memory
Of how life once was fun, when the US was run
By someone who did everything your clown show has undone
I loathe you so much

---apologies to "Thanks for the Memory," dedicated to Joe Biden
