Thinking about lucius' housing issues, I can't help but think about how Democrat politicians don't have to deal with the local rules about housing, environmental issues, you name it. Obama was able to buy that plot of land next to house for nothing; the Kennedy's were able to do what they wanted on their property without having to deal with the nasty EPA taking sides; and beachfront property that is supposed to have a public beach suddenly becomes private.

The entire Democrat plan is to have the government, or at least big companies tied to the government, control all housing. Then, if you have a bad social score, you're out.

Home ownership is the biggest wealth of the middle class, and they are trying to destroy it. Forcing zoning laws to have more "diversity" and reduce home values.

And even rental properties - the eviction bans hurt small landlords a lot; they could lose their property. A big company with thousands of units can survive, and probably get tax breaks too.

Finally, BlackRock and other investment firms are buying up single-family houses to turn them into rental properties.

All part of the plan to get people dependent on the government and their crony capitalists.

On a better note, last night, we clearly heard a barred owl hooting, very loudly. Maybe Gak visited?/

Link to page on the bird. Listen to the "classic hoots #1" for what we heard.

In Washington there is a Court (Mark well what I do say)

In Washington there is a Court

That says there's no "right" to abort

You'll do no more aborting with Roe v. Wade

Aborting, aborting

State legislatures determine

You'll do no more aborting with Roe v. Wade

Interestingly, the GF and I were watching a couple of episodes from the old "Dr. Kildare" show.  I'd never watched it; she used to back when it was on first run.

The first episode was one where a young woman, living with a girl friend, is found unconscious by the friend, who calls the ambulance.  Turns out that she may have taken a barbiturate overdose, but is also "bleeding out," and needs a vast number of transfusions to get her back to normal.  Once she recovers, she admits to Dr. Kildare that she shouldn't have moved out of her parents' house; she'd gotten involved with, and then dumped by, a married man.

The implication is clear that she'd gotten pregnant, at which point the man had broken things off, and that she'd attempted a self-induced abortion, or obtained an illegal one, and the pills were either to kill the pain or she'd taken them in a bout of depression.  None of this was said outright, of course---it was early-Sixties TV, after all---but it was very interesting to see how things were "coded" back then.

Coming up: “night of rage”.  Because the Left is, in the end, all about violence.

Note that over the last week there was a lot of fearmongering on the Left that "If they get rid of Roe, same-sex marriage and trans rights are next on the hit list!"

And now the decision has been released....on the eve of "Pride Weekend."  This is the weekend which is the culmination of "Pride month," and there will be massive, traditionally-raucous and unruly "parades" (with some protest undertones; there always are) on Sunday in cities all across the US.

It's going to get very frisky.

Like all the Communist countries. The more adjectives (People's, Democratic, Republic), the more the government tells the people how they should think.

The Supreme Court decision was "pro-choice"; it put the choice of lawmaking back in the hands of the state legislatures, where it belongs.

"Handmaid" is too expensive, especially with supply-chain problems.  "Machinemaids" are still available.

The arson/vandalism attacks on crisis pregnancy centers demonstrates (if there was any doubt) that these scum aren’t “pro-choice”; they are pro-abortion, per se.

They WANT babies to be killed.

I briefly considered rewriting "See You in September"  as "Will I see you get dismembered? (Bye, baby, goodbye)," but thought it might be in questionable taste.

They truly seem to be pro-violence anytime their preferences aren't followed.

Just by the way---was walking down a block I don't usually walk down, and what should I see but a couple of apparently-electric vehicles charging up at a "municipal charging station."  I did not have a chance to see whether these charges had to be paid for by the electric-vehicle owners, or were being subsidized by the taxpayers of New York.

Chickens Hold Controversial 'Fox Story Hour' In Chicken Coop

Protests aside, LeCorn left her chicks in the care of the fox because she had a feathering appointment and babysitters were so hard to find. She reportedly took one last look and shook her head in dismay as Derrick the Fox read from Foxes Need To Eat Too And That's Perfectly Normal And Beautiful.

So I allow myself to listen just a little bit of NPR hyperventilating about Dobbs. One thing I immediately noticed: all of this “men can get pregnant, too” stuff is gone with the wind. The lamentations were all about women, women, women, women.

Sorry, trannies. You were politically useful, until you weren’t.
