Long time coming but the correct decision. Que the riots. Jury comes to decision in Charleena Lyles inquest hearings On Wednesday, the jury decided Officers Jason Anderson and Steven McNew had no reasonable alternative to the use of deadly force against Lyles. They also decided that a taser would not have been a reasonably effective method to counter the threat to officers posed by Lyles.

Good morning. So I'm currently on a Teams call with clients; I'm wearing a nice dress shirt, my favorite Charvet tie... and cargo shorts (and bare feet). Please don't tell the clients...

The article is wonderfully vague as to what exactly happened.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 5: Charleena was a know mentally disturbed person to the cops with a history of attacking cops. Their cameras recording them discussing how to handle her on this call and her history. Once in the apartment she was calm for most of the interaction, suddenly she grabbed two kitchen knives and attacked the cops. Even then they tried to exit the apartment but she cornered one of them. The case has been one of the Seattle #remembertheirname, accusations of murder from City Clowncil members, riots etc.... It was an obvious clean shoot from the beginning. The tragedy lies with the mental health and court system. She was a known danger to herself and others but the services weren't available.

There was a fellow at morning minyan today who lives in Highland Park, the suburb of Chicago where the 4th of July shooting occurred. He was actually in the parade that was shot up---but towards the end of it, so he was not in any danger during the shooting. He said that the shooter had actually shown up at his synagogue some time earlier to case the place.

Reminds me of the case in Lancaster, PA from autumn 2020. The bodycam footage (which the police released very quickly) was practically a training video for "this is what a justified used of deadly force looks like, and the correct way to do it"; cop responding to a domestic disturbance call is walking up to the front door of the house, a guy bursts out of the door with a butcher knife raised over his head and charges at the cop. The cop fires until the threat stops (4 shots), then immediately ceases fire, hits on center mass with all four shots. And yet, the Left freaked out, rioted, et. I had a Prog friend who lives in Lancaster describe this to me as "the police killed an Afro-Latino man!". That was it, that was the story to him; the evil racist cops killed him for being Afro-Latino. That whole butcher knife thing? Irrelevant!

Reply to Occasional Reader in 8: Yup, the cops talking on the way up to Charleena's apartment exhibited concern for her wellbeing. Everything they did and said demonstrated the cared for her wellbeing and that of her kids.

I believe so. Apparently he showed up with a backpack, which their security searched and found nothing threatening. It was obvious, from his tattoos, that he didn't quite fit in at an Orthodox synagogue, but after they cleared his backpack he was given a yarmulke and allowed in.

I missed this one. Amazon held a Pride Month Pride flag raising at the Seattle HQ building. Note Amazon is woke, and has many internal "affinity" groups and advocacy groups for all kinds of things Trans 'die-in' at Amazon disrupts company Pride party Amazon has 1.5 million total employees, 500k of them are in tech roles, and 50k are in downtown Seattle, spread across nearly 60 buildings and 20 square blocks. Out of all those people. 30 disrupt this event because in their opinion a woke company isn't woke enough for them. An majority of 0.002%.

So, I recently read that the Hoover Company tried to place a series of ads in a prestigious British science journal for their new upright model.
But the ads were rejected; because Nature abhors a vacuum.
