I notice the complete lack of any concrete proposals for dealing with the alleged problem.  Just a "task force" for "diverse voices", blahblahblah.

I can't wait for the next installment of the new superhero cartoon: TASK FORCE!  They're inclusive!  They're diverse!  They're equitable! They're saving the world one consensus at a time!

There was a lengthy story on NPR yesterday dealing with how "because of the Texas abortion law, her pregnancy became a nightmare."  It is a long, and indeed agonizing, listen (11 minutes), but it is instructive to subject one's self to it because it illustrates perfectly the Leftist propensity for arguing the specific when a principle is under discussion, and arguing principle when a specific is being discussed---the more so since the Texas law issues detailed in the "news" report were a matter of poor law drafting and confusion regarding implementation that had NOTHING to do with the later overruling of Roe v. Wade

Mayor Pete should do it. It's not like he's doing his actual job.

I'm tempted to apply, just so I can (possibly) have a business card that says "Monkeypox Coordinator" on it.

Supply chain issues are going to get a whole lot worse.

AB5 Upheld as Supreme Court Declines Case

This phase of AB5 is going to have a major impact on trucking in CA.

A majority of trucks are run by owner operators who contract with carriers short term, sometimes on a per load basis, to long term with carriers on a per mile basis.

This portion of AB5 in simplest terms changes how contractor labor works (driven by SEIU primarily) and would force hourly rates and benefits be provide to contract labor.

The effect will be a reduction in goods moving through CA ports. Portland, Tacoma and Seattle are the only West Coast alternatives and their are at capacity form the previous requirements of AB5 on age of trucks and truck fleet composition.

This is a case IMAO where the Commerce Clause would apply. A CA law is negatively impact the ability of business in other states to conduct their business.
