So the SLS/Artemis mission has another fuel leak; this one is basically in a fueling fitting, between the vehicle and ground sides. I wonder if I'll have the cardboard model built before it launches. Note the earliest I'll have the model done is Sunday.

So I’m hoping to watch this launch with my son, but gosh, it would be nice if it actually happens.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 4: Not today The launch director waived off today’s Artemis I launch attempt at
approximately 11:17 a.m. EDT. Teams encountered a liquid hydrogen leak
while loading the propellant into the core stage of the Space Launch
System rocket. Multiple troubleshooting efforts to address the area of
the leak by reseating a seal in the quick disconnect where liquid
hydrogen is fed into the rocket did not fix the issue. Engineers are
continuing to gather additional data.
BTW, the SLS is largely based on 1970's technology, using Shuttle engines and similar (but not the same) solid boosters. Shuttle-Less-Shuttle As for watching the launch, this is something I can do at work without any trouble. And I would not be the only one watching. Not that long ago, I was talking to another person there about launching model rockets when we were kids.

Ugh. Once again it's looking like the sale of my house won't go through. And if that happens I'm out the earnest money on the house I was going to buy. This blows.

The Real Reason Biden Called Out Trump in a Prime-Time Nationwide Address Biden’s warnings about threats to democracy are hardly the point. His real goal was to troll the MAGA camp and their leader hoping to provoke violence so he can “prove his point” about Trump. Biden is no dummy. He immediately began to walk back the most incendiary parts of his speech. His mission was accomplished. By showing some Trump supporters to be unhinged extremists making threats against the president, political independents and even some Democrats who might be inclined to vote against their party in the midterm election, scurry away from Republicans. Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 12: Or to put it simply, Jan 6 wasn't enough of a Reichstag fire, so they are throwing gasoline on smoldering embers to cause enough violence they can use as an excuse to crack down.
