I wanted to go jogging this morning, but Proverbs 28:1 says “the wicked run when no one is chasing them,” so there goes that.

Someone should open a Christian-oriented dog grooming salon somewhere in New England, "The Wicked Flea".

CPS: Mom Can’t Let Her 3 Kids—Ages 6, 8, and 9—Play Outside by Themselves. “Pearisburg, Virginia, social services says kids must be watched—at all times—until they turn 13.”
Which reminds me of a song for the holidays, which I composed a few years ago in response to a post from RoboMonkey (IIRC) about a similar phenomenon in Montgomery County, MD: In the meadow, our kids build a snowman But it happens when we're not around Is it legal? Local law says "no", man! Because our city councilmen are clowns So we're charged; we conspired That the kids who we sired Would learn to be free And that they would be Walkin' 'round this fascist wonderland

No one wants to talk about the shadow banning details that Bari Weiss has posted? I'm sure we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg here, but I thought folks would want to discuss this. (Of course, I ask when I am absolutely swamped and I'm sneaking in over my lunch hour.) And yes, Cyber, I *do* read the documentation. It's surprising what you will learn that way--at least, when it is written well. Microsoft does NOT write good documentation anymore, although once I think they did a decent enough job.

Reply to vxbush in 12: I don't have a lot of sympathy for Americans who ignore or are ignorant of laws in countries they visit. Growing up overseas, I saw first hand the "ugly American" syndrome and how it turns people off. American's being used as political pawns is another thing, or those weird cases where things are so off the way there is almost no way for an America to know about it.

So, there was nearly a bench-clearing brawl a few minutes ago in the Argentina-Holland World Cup match. Am I a bad person for thinking, "that would have been entertaining"?

I'll post a full review of this book later; it really needs a proper review - well worth the read People Love Dead Jews One section is about The Merchant of Venice, and how the speech which most critics say humanizes Shylock does not Her 10-year-old son insisted on listening to the play, and when it got to this: I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villany you teach me, I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction. her 10-year-old son said that this doesn't humanize him. It is the evil villians's monologue Mua-ha--ha The wisdome of children.

It occurs to me: That they are coming out with another Indiana Jones movie in 2022 is the temporal equivalent of if, when I was in high school, they’d come out with something like Casablanca 5: Casablanca With A Vengeance, STILL starring Humphrey Bogart.
