Well, I can't keep away from the news. So much for my resolution of earlier this week. De Santis fires back at Trump: When Morgan asked him to explain the differences between himself and Trump, DeSantis replied: “The approach to COVID was different. I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage.” I think De Santis is taking advantage of 20/20 hindsight. Not many people realized how bad Fauci was before the pandemic unless you paid close attention to how he handled the HIV issue back in the 80's. Discussion topic of the day: Would De Santis have known that Fauci was wrong? What's your instinct?

We know President Biden has been lying his entire life, and we know that he has been lying about any interactions with his son's business dealings. But now we have receipts. You might want to hold on to this in case you still know a leftist who believes the media's lies.

A couple of days ago we were under a freeze warning; today it's supposed to get to 82. Not complaining about the latter.

So I heard an interesting presentation about the whole bank sector problem. Takeaway: The US banking sector has issues in pockets, but overall is okay. Canada's banks are in somewhat better shape than ours, in spite of also some "pockets" of problems. European (in spite of UBS), Aussie and Asian banks are overall very sound.
FWIW.

30 plus boats burned in an arson fire. The media won't say it... but. It was a homeless man.

In #2 vxbush said: It was a homeless man. Re-post, since it is relevant to Gutierrez's climate diatribe: All the people who want to "regulate the planetary climate" and demand the power and unlimited resources to do so are people who have proven themselves incapable of competently managing and running recently-built, closed, man-made systems. They cannot competently run power grids, or municipal water systems or trash pickup; they cannot competently maintain, let alone repair, the "roads and bridges" they are always prating about; they cannot competently run or maintain the public housing they increasingly want people to live in, or the public transportation systems that they want people to rely on. More than that; they cannot competently direct disaster recovery/relief from floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, wildfires, volcanic eruptions or earthquakes---let alone control or prevent such disasters. Yet they want people to believe that they can, and should, be permitted to try and regulate the planetary climate, which is infinitely more subtle and varied and complex than any of the recently-built, closed, man-made systems they have already repeatedly proven incapable of managing.
