I'll just post one article today, as no one seems to come here much (and thus I can't help but wonder if I'm pushing folks away):

Could Reading C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien Be Subversive in the UK?

The idea that reading these classics are evil is itself evil.

I've been kind of scarce but I drop in regularly. Work has been a nightmare and I'm dealing with a couple of health problems (nothing serious).

The idea if Tolkien and Lewis being subversive  - well, they are but in a good way. Christianity is counterculture now.

Hey, I know let's throw 6000 years of human civilization, learning and knowledge out the window because a bunch of uneducated kids said so!

These are people who want to completely remake society world wide. They will use any means at their disposal.

Ah, but what are his pronouns? They should be, "Whatever you want." /

So how many US soldiers are actually in Ukraine, fighting? I'm now getting conflicting signals after the documents leak earlier this week by the Air National Guardsman who was arrested within hours after the release (as opposed to having any clue about who released the Dobbs decision, for example).

Sorry, I'm here but can't really add to the conversation.  You're not pushing people away.  I appreciate the links you put up.  My mother always said, "if you don't have something good to say, then don't say anything at all".  I've been in such a foul mood lately I'd be hard pressed to come up with something good to say so I've been quiet.  My personal life has been good, it's just the rest of the world sucks so much right now.  Everyday seems worse than the day before.

The first Alice in Dairyland, Margaret McGuire in1948.  At first this honor was known as the Dairy Queen.  The first Dairy Queen was Virginia Kelly in 1934.  I was surprised to learn she came from the city (Clintonville, WI) we lived in for our first 13 years of our marriage.  It is my son's hometown.  I never know that town had such a celebrity in its history.  And now you know...

I appreciate the posts you put up and I've read most of them. I'm often stressed out these days.  Thanks for all that Kosh, JCM and you do for us.

I think we all know that I don't go here from work, even on my cell phone

But Monday is a Massachusetts and Maine holiday. No, not lobstah day, but Patriot's Day, commemorating the battle at the Rude Bridge that is on the main page of this blog.

Hope you enjoy your day off!  We suppose to get more snow on Monday.  It's been in the high 70's to low 80's the past few days.  Our normal high is in the mid 50's for this time of year.  God, I love Wisconsin.

It cools down enough overnight so no A/C needed.  Just opening up the windows takes care of it.  Going to be high 20's Monday night, hoping we don't have to turn the furnace back on.  After that it supposed to return to normal.  Yeah, I've heard that one before.
