Reply to JCM in 1: In “fairness”… what did anyone expect a “reparations panel” would do?

Reply to Occasional Reader in 2: It's the lack of ridicule... I'm not surprised. But such and idea should be met with ridicule.

Saw a big pickup truck - one with a back seat and a full size bed - with the number plage "PRIUS" I guess it identifies as a Prius.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 4: I like it. I have a full size truck. The thing is it was the CAFE standards created them. CAFE eliminated the full size wagon and sedan. Now pickup trucks and SUVs are the new luxury vehicles. My has a lot of bells and whistles. Heated seats and steering wheel, satellite radio. It is quite and rides much better than most of cars.

Reply to JCM in 5: So fuel economy regulations might have increased emissions. The law of unintended consequences. Like fish becoming smaller because smaller ones got thrown back. Or CO2 emissions increasing under the Kyoto Accords because developed nations exported work to China, which was perfectly happy to build more coal plants.
