To paraphrase Churchill. A very good paraphrase.

Are you ready for the UN to take over? The U.N.’s secretary-general, António Guterres, outlined the emergency platform proposal: “I propose that the General Assembly provide the Secretary-General and the United Nations system with a standing authority to convene and operationalize automatically an Emergency Platform in the event of a future complex global shock of sufficient scale, severity and reach.” “The challenges we face can only be addressed through stronger international cooperation,” Guterres declared. The emergency platform would provide the international body with power over all nations in times of distress. So: what will count as an emergency? Toenail fungus? Reply to vxbush in 5: SCOTUS precedent rulings state Treaties are limited by Constitutional protections in the US. Doesn't mean a regime like Biden would not implement such measures using a EO. Counting on a lengthy process in US courts, and lack of any enforcement capability of the court, and that Congress would act like milksops.
