Some recommended reading for Hiroshima Day:

a) Paul Fussell's superb essay "Thank God for the Atom Bomb," the title essay in the collection of the same name;

b) John Dos Passos' semi-poetic biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer, which appears in his novel "Midcentury."  The Oppenheimer piece is called "The Uncertainty Principle."  I'd remind folks that Dos Passos began as a supporter of the anarcho-syndicalist IWW, but became increasingly conservative and anti-Leftist as the '20s, '30s, and '40s progressed; by the time the '50s rolled around he was a supporter of Joe McCarthy, yet his bio of Oppenheimer, while it does not flinch from exploring his Leftism, also does not demonize him the way so many of today's knee-jerk anti-Leftists would.

Of course, it won't be enforced by the government, no, but by private industry. With pressure from the government if necessary, but we can't talk about that.

For example, Blackrock (iirc) with a major push for esg is buying up houses all over the country, so people will be forced to rent - and if they don't support causes they are supposed to, will find themselves on the street.
