Good morning.

And again, I'm reminded of why I would be reluctant to move to Florida, despite it being a bastion of Free America:  The whole hurricane thing.

That, and gators. The idea of living somewhere that includes native wildlife that can eat you seems like a bad idea.

Well, that actually covers a fair amount of the US (mountain lions; wolves, and bears - oh, my!).  At least, in theory.  But it's very, very unlikely, and an easily-mitigable risk.

Well, there's the fact that they have flying cockroaches, frogs, lizards, and several varieties of poisonous snakes---coral snakes, rattlers, and moccasins---as well as foot-long grasshoppers and alligators, all of which love to come and visit you.

Wouldn't that apply to most major cities?

When I was going to school in Florida, I called my apartment "the Ten Plagues" because of the local livestock/vermin that routinely invaded it.

The fresh grapefruit I was able to pick from the tree out back were small compensation.

And then there's the more upscale version, the Coral Gables Snakes.

I lived in Coral Gables, which for no particular reason I used to refer to as "Betty Grables."  I referred to my house (converted-garage apartment) as The Ten Plagues, in light of the flying roaches, frogs, and lizards that routinely waltzed through it, not to mention the iguana on the roof and the foot-long grasshoppers I used to run over routinely when driving to campus.

No.  I did go to that house, the name of which I forget, which was some rich guy's palazzo.

I have relatives in Coral Gables, and we (and later I, alone, when I was big enough) visited them many times.  I dimly remember Venetian Pools, and being pretty awed by it/them.   Lots of good memories in Coral Gables.

I envy you; since I was living on food stamps while attending law school, I have at best mixed memories.
