AOL sucks worse than I thought. (I only use it because they got the Verizon emai addresses. Should have moved back then)

Suddenly I cannot get AOL email through anything other than webmail.

Webmail shows no suspicious activity.

Correct password gets server timeout.

Incorrect password gets authentication error (but it DID connect to a server!)

Gmail says too many authentication errors.

AOL tech support requires account verification - scanned copies of ID. NO FUCKING WAY.

I enabled email on a hosting account I have and will move all essential email there.

Even though it will probably work right tomorrow.

Note my wife's account works fine. I think it is because mine has a special character and that is no longer supported. But we will see. Too bad there is no way to bulk forward and set up automatic forwarding.

I have seen references at Insty FWIW to the USSS having had to cave in years past to a "disparate impact" lawsuit, which resulted in their abandoning many of their hiring screening methods.  What a grand idea!
