"Violence stuns UCLA as counter-protestors attack pro-Palestine camp"

I'm taking these reports with a big bag of salt, in terms of the identity of the alleged "aggressors".

Such a beautifully lit and framed photo at the top of the story.

Staged as hell.

A student journalist with the school paper, interviewed on BBC World this morning, claimed that the counter-protesters were armed with "tear gas canisters".  I'm... skeptical.  Among other things, I don't think the average journo, let alone student journo, understands the difference between pepper spray and tear gas.  (See, e.g., the breathless reports during the St. George of Fentanyl riots that Trump had ordered rioters outside Lafayette Park "tear gassed"... and then he strolled right out and held up a Bible; because he's apparently Superman, impervious to "tear gas". )

Any school with a ounce of sense who expel every student and fire every employee involved with the protests.

And if this really was outraged pro-Israeli counter-protesters who lit the thing off? Meh... they should receive a stern lecture, or something, maybe. I can't say I'm outraged if the pro-Pali thugs finally got some hard pushback.

It looks like the local university is now getting into this. Apparently tents were set up yesterday on the quad and chalk writing asking the university to divest from Israel.
