You can't tell by looking, but those recipes have espresso in them. Just in case you need a jolt to start your day.

So the fear mongers in climate science are confused about why ocean temperatures are suddenly down. If you want to see the chart against other years, you can see it here. In my mind, it looks like crappy data analysis, because the standard deviation lines aren't evenly mirrored across the mean, despite my (I think reasonable) assumption that the temperatures would be normally distributed. Honestly, it looks like cherry picking--the mean was chosen based on the years 1982-2011, which only covers 29 years. So that only covers just over 1 solar sunspot cycle and an unknown (to me) number of sea oscillation cycles (ENSO, NIÑO).

Reply to vxbush in 2: I will say this--move your mouse over the lines, and you'll be told what year that line represents (as well as the actual date of the data point under the mouse cursor). It's not just the most recent years that are the highest ones on the graph.

If I ever get bored of work (or retire) and decide to go back to school but don't want to do a Ph.D. in my chosen field, I might go back into GIS. Maybe. Mostly because there are more jobs out there now asking for a GIS background and it might not be too hard for me to learn.
