In #5 buzzsawmonkey said: Elon's whiz-kids should start calling themselves "the Free Musketeers." If people around the internet start calling them that, it will be a really nice axe at the knees of the Leftist media. People are used to thinking of "the Three Musketeers" as the honorable, noble, trustworthy, loyal guys. If the DOGE-boys start routinely being referred to as "the Free Musketeers," it would probably create a groundswell of belief in/support for the work of DOGE, and, accordingly of Trump---which the Leftist media is trying desperately to stop from happening. In #6 Kosh's Shadow said: And they should weild Elon-gated swords I fully support this and suggest we need to make memes. Do we have faces of the three that have been revealed? although I'm wondering if we should relabel them slightly as the "Free (money) Musketeers", in that they are freeing the money from the oppression of the Democrats.

Here's a great line on the Al Green censure spectacle: "I assume there wasn't anyone in Green's circle clever enough to warn him that a black millionaire can't align himself with people who have faced real oppression and that his wrinkled, overused race card is crimping at the edges."

"Joy" is so last fall: Dem Senator Ditches Wife for CEO of Democrat Media Operation The CEO in question posted on Instagram, writing "Not postponing joy." The senator married his wife in 2004 and they separated last year. You know, once upon a time, this would have been a gargantuan scandal. Now, it barely merits a story.

Democrats really do know how to pivot on a (literal) dime: Democrats Are Trying To Kill DOGE By Killing Continuing Resolution Proposal Note Jeffries is lying: However, he claimed that the CR threatened to cut funding for healthcare, nutritional assistance, and veterans' benefits despite that not being actual. "[The] partisan continuing resolution threatens to cut funding for key programs...That is not acceptable," he continued. Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that his party has "always believed the only solution is a bipartisan solution, no matter what." "Bipartisan" is only ever trotted out when Dems aren't in power.

Reply to vxbush in 1: While some clarification might be desirable regarding the "Free Musketeers," trying to add to the name/catchphrase will make it clunky; it is the "Musk" (-eteers) that's important. Clarification can come when dealing with the inevitable contentions/objections, but you don't tie cans to the tail of something you're trying to make into a catchphrase.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 8: Over the weekend we had the story about kids under 11 getting $100s of millions in loans. On the face of it it looks like a money laundering scheme

(This is not my area of expertise, I freely admit.) One AI image generator refused to use any real pictures in the attempt I made, and I appreciate why. I didn't try to use Musk's photo instead. But there is a part of me that is thinking that Musk should really be compared to Robin Hood instead.

Reply to vxbush in 12: Everyone (not us) misses that Robin Hood didn’t steal from the rich. He took back what the government had illegally obtained in the first place. A very good argument can be made that every department and agency not enumerated and every tax and fee and explicitly passed by congress is akin to the Sheriff taking money. The Robin Hood analogy is very apt.

Problem #2: This happened during COVID, so rather than do any learning, they decided to become entrepreneurs. Uh huh. And $333 million went out to entrepreneurs who were 115 or older. Oh, sure, I'm going to believe that as well. But rather than agree that preventing this fraud would help keep Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare solvent, they want to scream and gnash their teeth.

In #13 JCM said: The Robin Hood analogy is very apt. Do not forget that "Robin Hood" was originally "Robin of Locksley Hall," a "minor squire" (i.e., of the "lesser nobility") until he was driven out of his domain by the Norman power structure which coveted his land, and---he being of Saxon descent---was much disfavored by the partisan laws.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 15: In our modern tale The People are Saxon and the bureaucracy are the Normans, with a large measure of Court Eunuchs thrown in.
