Good news: for now, a federal appellate court has overruled an activist decision to prevent Trump from using tariffs as a negotiating tactic. Via Fox Business: In its decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted an immediate administrative state to the extent that permanent injunctions entered by the Court of International Trade on Wednesday are temporarily stayed until at least June 9. After June 9, the court can issue an order of enforcement.
So it's not a permanent injunction, but I would never expect that at this stage of the game. Still, it's a positive sign.

Reply to vxbush in 1: I do see one error being made, though, in a paragraph later in the piece: What should be happening right now is that Congress should be working to ensure lots of spending cuts while the tariffs bring in more money to help cover the remaining costs that have already created over $36 trillion in national debt. But unfortunately, much of the judiciary seems hell-bent on helping Democrats destroy our republic. We know people respond to pressure, and countries are made of people. So I expect more countries to bow to the tariff pressure, which means the tariffs aren't going to stay in place long enough to help pay down the national debt. Instead, the focus should be on making us wildly productive so we can see tax increases as happened during Reagan's term when the US was allowed to actually build and sell stuff.

Was Francis this open and approachable? Watch: Pope Shows He’s A True American With Viral One-Handed Baseball Catch I mean, he was smiling--still surrounded by tons of security, alas--but he made a point of pointing to the person and gestured for them to throw the stuffed pope figure. I don't ever recall Francis doing something like that, although I'm open to being proved wrong.

This Ars Technica article is touting the latest video AI generators. Some of these are plausible, but some of them are obvious fakes and some are really disturbing. Lots to look at.

Reply to vxbush in 5: War is cruelty, there is no use trying to reform it; the crueler it is, the sooner it will be over. You cannot qualify war in harsher terms than I will. War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it; and those who brought war into our country deserve all the curses and maledictions a people can pour out.
William Tecumseh Sherman Gaza should not get any aid. Aid to the people relieves Hamas of the duty to care for the people, never mind Hamas stealing and selling it. This war in Gaza has drug on. It would have been far better for the people of Gaza to have a complete blockade, utter destruction of the infrastructure and war making ability of Hamas and ended it that what we have now.

Reply to vxbush in 4: Day Biden, remember the clip on day EO signing when Biden said he didn't know what he was signing. Well in that batch he stopped Trumps actions to rescue kids and capture traffickers. Why? Go to his insulting Easter event. The democrat party is pandering to to traffickers and pedophiles. Like they have enough votes to swing an election. The core of the Communist Manifesto, of Critical Theory is the destruction of a civil society that operates outside government control.
They can't have that. So to achieve control sacrificing children is a reasonable action.

Supreme Court clears way for Trump admin to end migrant protections The Supreme Court on Friday stayed a lower court order that blocked the Trump administration from deporting roughly 500,000 migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The decision is a near-term victory for President Donald Trump as he moves to crack down on border security and immigration priorities in his second term.

I am above the law! Wisconsin judge claims 'absolute immunity,' calls DOJ indictment an 'ugly innovation' Judge Hannah Dugan’s attorneys say that she is entitled to judicial immunity for her official acts and that the federal government overstepped its authority by arresting and charging her. Additionally, the legal team asserts in its memo that the charges violate the Constitution’s Tenth Amendment and the principle of separation of powers. Oh! Really?

as I’ve mentioned here before, I think land recognition statements are more fun if they are read as a brag.

I've been saying for years that the native Americans should start marketing shoes, or at least slippers, under the trade name of "the Last of the Mohicans."

I will reiterate my complaint about SCOTUS. There is a lack of diversity on the court... they all come from Yale or Harvard.
