I agree with William Tecumseh Sherman, when in a war make it so horrid that it ends as quickly as possible.

Aid just prolongs the conflict. It allows Hamas to use resources for the conflict. We know Hamas wouldn't bother with the population. The theory is that when the people get desperate enough, they take care of the regime.

Even in that extreme the fellow travelers of the Islamist will still blame Israel and the West.

Israel should reply

"We will take steps to end the war as quickly as possible, as you request. The only way to do that without setting the stage for another Oct 7 is to stop all aid into Gaza, and increase military force until Hamas is destroyed."

The state of "Palestine" is "imaginary" or, if you prefer, "nonexistent"---so "recognizing the state of Palestine" is cheap virtue signaling, especially so when you consider the savings achieved by not having to pay for an embassy, or the salaries of an ambassador and diplomatic support staff.
