Taqiyya is a Shi'a device, recommended by (fraudulent) "official publications" created during the reign of the second Caliph, Umar.  The Sunni equivalent is muruna and it's even worse.  Muruna authorizes lying and deception using behavior, in addition to words.  It's part of the core policy of the Muslim Brotherhood.  It's the womb from which CAIR was born (created as the US chapter of the Brotherhood.)  It's the gospel out of which the pseudo-Muslim political press is screeching "genocide in Gaza".

"TexAm University" is VERY deliberate, and so self-righteously conceived as to be dirt-stupid. ....  When one is sacredly-inclined, one can do anything, regardless.  Meager earthly laws do not apply to you.

A separate effort in the metroplex over the past several months is an attempt (by a different local mosque) to get rezoning in a neighboring county for a thousand-acre entirely-Muslim community where Sharia law would rule behavior.  Since the zoning change request was filed, the mosque has been doing back-flip side-twist handsprings, denying that either Sharia or exclusively-Muslim was ever part of their plan.

In fairness, that (rather large) mosque's parking lot has long been the scene of MAGA protests during Friday services -- "Christian" Evangelicals chanting and waving signs saying "You're worshiping the wrong god".
