Looks like everyone has gone into hibernation for the winter! There's 8"-12" of snow forecast for us today so I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the day.

Reply to Alice in Dairyland in 1: Depending on the forecast, we can get 5-9 inches from mid-Sunday through Monday. Much of that sleet. Our snowblower can't handle sleet. If we had the larger model, I understand it would, but then it wouldn't fit between the stone wall and cars. Most of our driveway cannot be plowed due to the stone wall. And with a big demon Wednesday, I cannot take the day off easily.

Reply to vxbush in 5: I'm sorry you were sick on Thanksgiving. Hopefully you're over it. Youngest daughter and her boyfriend left this morning, and everyone else leaves tomorrow. It's been a wonderful week, but I'm exhausted.

I wonder,... what is the process for getting a conceal carry permit for a Narwhal tusk?

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 10: Granted, the “conceal” part of the plan could pose a problem.

Reply to Syrah in 9: no more research needed on this. 16 USC §§1372(a)(3), 1375 & 1362(6) make it a federal crime to possess a narwhal tusk, but not if it's for "enhancing the survival of a species."
I will I’ll just have to be happy with the 9mm.

Reply to revobob in 13: i suppose that if the Cop asks me where the unicorn is, I should tell him it is right behind me but if he is not a virgin, he can’t see it. that Should work out.

Greetings from a DC-bound Amtrak, with Little OR asleep with his head on my lap. A very nice visit “home”, but I’m exhausted. And why the f**k can’t Amtrak assign seats, like a normal passenger train service? It was mayhem getting two seats together.

IIRC Steven Seagal takes out a guy in a fight using a narwhal tusk in a movie.
