The great thing about RudeBridge.net is that the net will catch any chunks that fall off the rude bridge.

The police caught the guy who attacked a Chanukah party at a rabbi's home in Monsey. No report of fatalities, but at least five people were injured. The suspect, Thomas Grafton, is "of color."

The suspect, Thomas Grafton, is "of color." As has been the case for most, if not all, of the recent attacks against Jews in NY. DeBlasio talks a lot, but hasn't done much. NY state government looks like it might do more. Note this doesn't make national headlines the way when white supremacists attack. I doubt the NJ shooting would have gotten the same attention had the media known at first it was blacks. Those on the left, including the media, can't blame it on Trump, so it isn't important. Note the Pittsburgh and Poway shooters both hated Trump, too - they thought he was controlled by Jews (as does the NY Slimes; they never did figure out what was antisemitic about the cartoon with Bibi as a dog leading around a blind Trump)

Reply to Occasional Reader in 8: Try it with four. That said, I don't enjoy being away from my kids as long as I am in the time after Christmas. That I ended up spending those weeks taking care of mom (instead of, say, going to Paris) adds insult to injury. I really could use something good to happen. Something genuinely good; no Monkey's Paw "good."

Kosh, no preference what every you pick I can pitch in on costs. BTW IIRC you are on contract. Amazon Kuiper has a ton of open positions, they don't seem to shy away from grey hairs. https://www.amazon.jobs/en/teams/projectkuiper

Don't have time to look at the moment, and Amazon has contacted me before. The only local one, I didn't get. (On the system behind their Alexa spyspeaker)

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 11: Are you willing to consider relocating? I don't want to leave Atlanta, but on a whim, I applied for a job in NJ. Much to my surprise, I got a phone interview. When I told the recruiter where I live, he said, "Oh, so you're looking for a remote position?" Yeah, sure, that's the ticket! It's 20-30% travel anyway. It looks like a really great opportunity, and for the right money I would probably move, but it would be much better if I didn't have to. I'm just at the point where I have to consider all options.

Watch for a photography show in the next year or two called "Trans-Furs." It will be a series of before-and-after shots of "transgender" genitalia, fuzz included---i.e., "trans-fur" recording the "transfer." I'm surprised nobody's done it yet---but when they do, you heard it here first.

Reply to doppelganglander in 13: Relocation would be difficult, as my wife has cases that will go on for another year at least, and she would then have to get established in another state which isn't easy. And then they'd have to cover relocation expenses. We can't. Including, probably the difference in housing. While Boston is expensive, we're 40 miles west, and the house is worth maybe $275K, which wouldn't buy a parking space never mind a doghouse within 20 miles of Boston. Would they do that for a 64 year old? They might for someone younger, but I wouldn't be able to work there as long.

HA! ++++++++ I was merely thinking of "transfer" of sexual identity, and "trans-fur" as regards the pubic fuzz region.

Work in progress: The Monsey Slash ---apologies to "The Monster Mash" I was working late into the night on my diversity When I heard some news that perturbed me A "person of color" broke in on Hasids And tried to murder men, women and kids He did the slash! He did the Monsey Slash! The Monsey Slash! He tried to stab and gash He did the slash! He was gripped by racial pash He did the slash! He did the Monsey Slash! Everyone's puzzled why the attacker strode All uninvited into the rabbi's abode Perhaps he was envious 'cause Hanukkah Has two more candles lit than has Kwanzaa He did the slash! He did the Monsey Slash! The Monsey Slash! He tried to stab and gash He did the slash! He was gripped by racial pash He did the slash! He did the Monsey Slash!

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 16: All valid points. One of the reasons I would consider NJ, despite the fact that it's outrageously expensive and run by Democrats, is that I still have family there, and I could probably live with my brother at least temporarily. He's at least an hour from this particular job, but I could live with it. The downside is that my boyfriend would not go with me - for one thing, he owns a ton of guns and it would be a nightmare even if he were able to get the proper permits. Aside from being unemployed, I like my life here and I don't want to blow it up. You just never know.
