Reply to Occasional Reader in 1: There's nothing like smoking a couple of terrorists to bring out the anti-American appeasers. You would think Ben Rhodes, Samantha Power, and the rest of them would lay low for a while instead of reminding us how they sent $1.7 billion to Iran.

Morning, campers. Pretty much felt crappy all during holidays, so I hunkered down and try to take care of me. Might have turned a corner; we'll see in the next week. In the meantime, I avoided a lot of news, and that was a good thing.

Reply to Syrah in 44: I find myself wondering what would happen were we to actually topple the mullahs, and the Iranians rebuilt themselves as a more-or-less Westernized nation. Would they become an ally? Would that mean we turned our backs on the Saudis, whom we've been backing against Iran, if the Iranians went more modern/secular than they? Would Iran be attacked by the regional jihadis, and would we then end up becoming their ally? It could get really weird.
