Got home from my 2 weeks with mom. House is not as bad as I'd feared. Making waffles this morning and then heading out to do a bunch of grocery shopping.

Things are moving nicely. Will be getting into a licensed range in about a month now. Talked to the wife about taking her the following weekend and she is very interested. Just happens to be after Valentines day, so it will be a date sort of. :)

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 3: Purpose is to get her more comfortable with firearms in general. Don't want to terrify her and have a couple .22LR firearms for that purpose.

I took my sister, who is all of 5 foot one and very much a girly girl, to the range a few years ago, her first time shooting. Started her off on a 22. Very soon she said, this is kind of wimpy. So I went to a 9 mm. She liked that a lot better. Then we shot my 45 caliber 1911, and she loved it. So you never can tell.

Reply to PaladinPhil in 2: That's an excellent date. I haven't been to the range in months because the BF's back is completely fucked up. He's scheduled for surgery in March - actually two surgeries, a week apart. Even if they're successful, he's looking at 3-6 months recovery time, although he should be able to get out and about a bit six weeks post-op. It would be so nice to just take a walk together.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 6: All future firearm purchases are off the table for me. Getting a .45 1911 would be nice. Picked up a 9mm Norinco last year and can't wait for a chance to fire it.

AOC is engineering a take over of the D party. I don't think she's smart enough to do it on her own. But that is what it looks like. Her money is being passed around to other radicals primarying more mainstream (D)s.

So I’ve lost track, how many of the democrat presidential candidates have at this point repeated the Iranian regime’s talking point that basically blames the United States for the shoot down of the Ukrainian airliner?

Reply to Occasional Reader in 17: Bills and stuff. Have to get finances fully sorted out before I can start looking at other purchases. My choice.
