The very late results for the Washington state primary. https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/President-Democratic-Party_ByCounty.html they are saying that Biden won, but I wonder if that is because it is in the margin of cheat if we had the old Caucus system, I am sure that Bernie would have walked away the big winner. there are Bernie signs in every town I drive through. I haven’t seen a single Biden sign. yard signs don’t measure votes, but they do measure voter commitment and enthusiasm along with campaign resources. I don’t see much enthusiasm for Biden and up until a few weeks ago their coffers were bare. I don’t think they had the money for yard signs. In Politics, the “vote for” generally wins against the “vote against”. But not always. Much of the reason that Trump won in 2016 was the vote against Hillary. Trump is now a known commodity. The media have spent billions of dollars of air and print trashing Trump non stop since 2016. The Dem nominee will win Washington State in 2020. The enthusiasm is on the Republican side, but the numbers and the funny math vote counting is on the Democrats side.

I think I might park over near the local Costco and sell single rolls of toilet paper for $100.00 a piece.

Are we all dead yet?

'cause we should be if I was listening to the media. Then I wouldn't have to get caught up on work.

And where I work, they "strongly encourage" everyone who can work from home to do so, and changed some rules to make it possible for more people. Including allowing desktop systems to be taken home because they can't just go out and get a lot of laptops and have them set up.

Internal travel bans coming. Some Washington State has the worst death toll so far, that could mean here. Time for a quick trip out of county for some last minute supplies.

Just got back from H-Mart. The only sign that there was any kind of problem was that there weren't the huge piles of toilet paper out front that there usually are. In the meat department the chicken was mostly cleared out as was the pork, but they had restocked the boneless breasts before I left. Of duck and beef there were ample supplies. Only vegetables that were short were baking potatoes -- the cabbage aisle was a little sparse but was being restocked. Meanwhile, the person in front of me in line had been to Kroger and it was cleaned out. Conclusion: Asians are immune to panic.

And me, I’m just back from Safeway, or things look fairly normal, all things considered. No hand sanitizer to be had for a load for money, of course, ditto on isopropyl alcohol, fortunately I am in good shape on that stuff. There’s a fair amount of toilet paper on offer, although a lot of it is second-tier brands. Perhaps they are not as fluffy soft, but they’ll get the job done. And perhaps, post coronavirus, the next big run will be on preparation H....

"This paper is so soft, it feels like you are wiping with nothing at all" We use the cheap stuff. Have tough behinds, I guess.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 11: Toilet paper is one of those things where I'm perfectly happy with the store brands, though the Hello Kitty brand at H-Mart is great when I can get it.

Reply to lucius septimius in 10: Reply to Occasional Reader in 11: Publix was no busier than a normal Saturday. Cleaning supplies were very low, especially wipes. However, all that stuff is on sale, due to their previously planned Spring Cleaning promotion. The meat department was very picked over; I didn't venture into the produce department.

I'm getting my car washed at a place with a restaurant and full bar. Genius! They also offer hookah. So the server just walked by with a fresh hookah, puffing away, and handed it over to the patrons. I will not be partaking in hookah.
