Good morning.  Boston Herald: Biden has only one choice for Veep running mate, and it's Michelle Obama

Discuss.

As states open up, I think we'll see a cascading effect.  Georgia is slated to reopen, but the Demonrat mayor of Atlanta is trying to keep the city shut down.  That can't work if the rest of the state reopens.

One question:  if this was so bad, why haven't we seen massive infection rates among "essential" employees?

Prediction: As "red" states open up, the MSM will have somber pieces about ANY newly-infected person representing a massive failure of this anti-Science measure taken by the gap-toothed Bible-beaters.

Mmm, point of order here; if I recall correctly, your position was always that Mooch would be nominated for President, not veep.   (And in any event, she ain't there yet.)

In typical leftard fashion, they will throw out statistics in favor of anecdotal evidence. Because truthy.

True, but this is just the setting-up exercise.

Plenty of time for her to either get the Veep nomination under Biden with the nudge-nudge-wink-wink that she's the "real nominee," i.e., that if Biden limps into office with her as the kite tail he will be gurneyed out in short order, or for Biden to melt down entirely prior to getting the nomination, leaving her as presumptive Veep to "step up because her country needs her."

No doubt about it.  I wouldn't be surprised if the stories weren't already written, with just a few blanks waiting to be filled in.

I'm reading (or trying to) a transcript of the interrogation of a 5 year old orphan boy who claimed to be a witch.  The handwriting is about the worst I've ever seen, and the kid's remarks are in dialect.  And the more I read, the more I'm beginning to think that he's actually speaking a form of Yiddish.

You and I have obviously never corresponded by hand-written message.

If Atlanta remains shut down, people will take their business elsewhere. Let's see how long that lasts before restaurants, salons, and other businesses start howling and Keisha is forced to back down.

In WA Gov. Stupid and Lazy is going to be hoist on his petard.

He's says he's following data, but he would know data if it stapled to a bat and he was beat with it.

According to him, data says. A pot shop is "safe" but a gun shop is not. A bus and train is "safe" but a golf course is not. Private construction and yard work is NOT SAFE, but gov't construction is.

People are noticing.

At this point, that isn't much of a prediction. It is pretty much guaranteed.

Gov. Cuomo: 'You want to go to work? Go take a job as an essential worker.' | ABC News

"Become an essential worker?" Let's see....to become a police officer you have to attend the police academy. To become an EMS worker, or a nurse, or some other medical worker, you have to have medical training. Become a transit worker to replace those who have fallen ill? I'm sure the MTA, which is going broke, will leap at the chance to hire untrained people for track work or to drive trains or buses, and the union will be more than happy to have such people join up.

Oh...maybe he meant "find a job at one of the few stores I've permitted to remain open." Well, those stores are hanging on by their fingernails, and they've already got employees.

So...just where are these "essential worker jobs?"

How come all those "non-essential" gov't workers who get paid furlough during gov't shutdowns are suddenly essential?

Oh, right, they are only "non-essential" when gov't wants to inflict pain on The People to extort more money.

I believe there is an apocryphal Marie Antoinette quote that's on-point for moments such as this.

George Gershwin: "Let 'Em Eat Cake"

George Gershwin wrote two political musicals:  "Of Thee I Sing," and the sequel, "Let 'Em Eat Cake."

The Gershwin musicals should be listened to---with the oldest-available recordings---while reading such works as Sinclair Lewis' "It Can't Happen Here," a mid-Thirties novel of a fascist takeover of the US that puts Philip Roth's recent "Plot Against America" to shame, and Robert Penn Warren's "All the King's Men," which is a fictionalized look at Huey Long, who was considered a serious challenger to Roosevelt in 1936.

My late friend Jeffrey had a fantastic 12-inch 78rpm picture record (a record with pictures pressed into, and showing through, the shellac) from the 1930s of medleys from both "Of Thee I Sing" and "Let 'Em Eat Cake," but that disappeared somewhere after his death.  Would that I had it now.

Ok, this gave me a much needed laugh. (way down after all the volcano stuff)

0.1% of Dallas County has tested positive for ChiCom-19 and 0.00% have died from it. At this rate, Dallas County will cross the Mendoza Line (.200 batting average) on December 15, 2034.
