Morning, campers. Today's liberal indoctrination point: a Brookings article about media consumption patterns is being reworked to demonstrate how stupid Republicans are, following every conspiracy theory against Democrats. The article doesn't come out and say that, but it does say, "Previous research showed that highly knowledgeable people who also lack trust in governmental institutions are more prone to endorse political conspiracy theories." And my liberal friends are using this as proof of how stupid Republicans are.

Now the article also says, "Using social media more often is also associated with more conspiratorial thinking," and lots of folks across the political spectrum use social media--but we don't talk about that, of course.

Which also means that the founding fathers were absolutely nutcases. Because science.

It seems to me that being highly knowledgeable breeds distrust in government. Only the ignorant believe government has our best interests at heart.

Hope you all are having a good day. My baby girl turns 28 today, which doesn't seem possible.

Similarly, some study claimed that Fox news viewers were more likely to break social-distancing guidelines that those who watched "main stream media."  But it was based on zip codes and only compared Fox and CNN, leaving out all the other news outlets.  What's more, the data was from 2015.  So, in other words, complete junk.  But it's "science."

Then there was the chart from a Pew study where the headline said "Covid cases decline in Democrat districts but remain stable in Republican districts" or something along those lines.  But the accompanying graph showed that there were far more Covid cases in Democrat districts.

My baby girl will be 15 in a couple weeks.  Hard to wrap my head around that.

I see where Minneapolis is a-boil over the death of a black man at the hands of white police.  Despite the immediate firing of the police involved, the race-baiting crowd are vowing all kinds of unrest unless "something is done," even though something has already been done.

The outrage seems to have already far surpassed any outrage over the needless shooting of an unarmed white woman by Mohammed Noor, the Somali affirmative-action police hire in Minneapolis, a few years ago.

Meanwhile, NPR is working on roiling the waters of race-hatred over the Georgia shooting of Ahmaud Arbery.  Listen to this "poem," if you have the stomach for it.

Back when Nancy Kerrigan got kneecapped in that glorious moment when figure skating finally became a blood-sport, NPR's "musician in residence" played the guitar and sang a little ditty about the horrible, horrible, awfulness of being an upper-middle class white girl taking skating lessons.  They're always "twirling and twirling," sung with great anger.

I was in the car, and I remember thinking "my God -- this must be parody."  That pretty much did it for NPR and myself.

About once per decade, SNL is allowed to mock liberals, just a little.  That one was a classic.

I had exactly the same NPR-in-the-car-surely-this-is-parody experience only a few weeks ago, when they were interviewing some author of a book for children about a transgender... caterpillar, or some such thing; and the author opined that during this pandemic, it's super duper important that we remember to respect everyone's preferred pronouns; prompting approving noises from the interviewer.

Yes, because that's obviously  the top priority in a pandemic.

We also forgot to riot over that young white couple who were abducted, raped, tortured, mutilated, and killed by black thugs some years backj.

One wonders what it must be like to live in such a tiny little bubble where pronouns are the most important thing in the universe.

One of the things that I hope will come out of this disruption is a reevaluation of nonsense like the trans movement. People have real problems and I believe they may be less inclined to indulge the delusions of the mentally ill.

Radio interview with the Head of WA Employment Security Dept. about being scammed out of a billion dollars.

She's a former data storage and security expert from Microsoft.

Basically she said the scammers are smarter than her Dept.

She said the scammers had all the information for previous data breaches and were able to scam them.

.... Okay, the data breaches are a known factor for internet data security... and YOU WERE NOT READY???

WHY THE FUCK DO YOU STILL HAVE A JOB!

Heh. It's easy to get into a passive mode at a job and say something like that. It's much harder to do the serious thinking to be prepared the next time it comes. I'm with JCM; that was kind of her job, given her leadership position.
