NPR once again was all terrible, systemic racism---whether "racist cops massacre again" or "disproportionate effects of covid." And, once again, all sorts of worry about "increased virus cases," especially in the (more conservative) states that have opened up, or begun to, even as they quietly admit that the number of actual deaths continues to decline. And New York's idiot mayor is now talking about early July---maybe---as being when we might actually get back to some semblance of reopening.

Or a cooking show. Maybe they're hoping for a cable deal?

By the way, for a look at same-sex marriage (sort of), and same-sex couple adoption (sort of), long before these things were on the horizon, here are Laurel and Hardy in 1932 with "Their First Mistake." Film runs about 35 minutes.

"I am tired of seeing my people being genocided... by every definition of the word!" Well, fortunately, there are precisely zero definitions of the transitive verb "to genocide", so everything's fine.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 16: Who is being "genocided" and where? I assume the ignoramus is talking about blacks in US at the hands of police. 250 people killed isn't exactly being "genocided".

250 people killed isn't exactly being "genocided". If you read the link above about Black Lives Matter, the facts on the ground are studiously ignored. Reality isn't useful for their cause, so they ignore reality and continue to proclaim the huuuuuge number of deaths of black men by the police. The goal is to remove the rule of law.

Radar went from nothing to a big bright red blob in 20 minutes and it should hit the house in about three minutes.

Gotta love those. Last summer, between the time I left work and the time (like 10 minutes later) I arrived at the appropriate Metro stop, one of these little buggers popped up pretty much directly over Little OR's daycare. Kind of startling, but all was well in the end.

Mom fell again today -- they took her to the ER but sent her home. I haven't talked with her yet -- don't have the stomach to.
